Template:Character-infobox Baby Rosalina is a minor character in the Mario franchise designed to be the infant counterpart of Rosalina. Baby Rosalina debuted as an unlockable racer in Mario Kart 8, similarly to how Baby Daisy was introduced in Mario Kart Wii.

History

Mario Kart series

Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Baby Rosalina is a lightweight racer and shares all of her stats with the other playable baby characters, as well as Lemmy Koopa. Nin★Maria's staff ghost uses Baby Rosalina if players race on Cloudtop Cruise in Time Trials.

Baby Rosalina returns in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, where she is available from the start. Her statistics have also been slightly altered. She is still classified as a lightweight character and shares her stats with only Lemmy. Her only known rival is Toadette.

Mario Kart Tour

Baby Rosalina returns as a playable character in Mario Kart Tour as of the Tokyo Tour update on October 8, 2019. She is classified as a Normal character, and her special item is the Bubble. In the closed beta test, however, her special item was the Boomerang Flower. On March 11, 2020, Baby Rosalina also became the focus of her own self-named tour, which introduced a detective outfit as a variant, named Baby Rosalina (Detective). This variant is classified as a tour-exclusive High-End character, with the Dash Ring as her special item.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Baby Rosalina appears in the artwork used to represent the Biddybuggy spirit. The spirit's battle even features Rosalina and Luma as an opponent to reflect this. In addition, the music that plays during the battle is the Cloudtop Cruise theme, referencing Baby Rosalina being the 150cc staff ghost of Cloudtop Cruise in her original appearance.

In Dr. Mario World, Baby Rosalina appears as an unlockable playable character (referred to as Dr. Baby Rosalina). She was added around December 2019 along with Dr. Kamek. Her skill changes a random object into a rainbow capsule, in stage mode and versus mode. Viruses are targeted first for being changed before certain other objects are targeted. Coins, capsules, objects that can eliminate viruses (e.g. Exploder) and objects that cannot be eliminated (e.g. Empty Block) cannot be transformed. In stage mode, only one object is transformed, while in versus mode, the amount of objects transformed is different based on level where it's 2 at level one and 10 at the maximum level. In versus, this skill has a delay in taking effect after activating it.

General information

With an outfit based on Rosalina's design, Baby Rosalina has pale skin, platinum blonde hair, rosy cheeks, and bright blue eyes with four eyelashes (instead of six like her adult counterpart has). Her hair is similar to the way Rosalina droops a large bang over her right eye as an adult. Her dress shirt appears to be turquoise with short, frilly powder-blue sleeves and a lighter skirt section. She also wears cyan baby bottoms, white tights, and blue dress shoes. Just like her adult counterpart, she wears a silver crown instead of the gold crown that Princess Peach and Princess Daisy wear; however, her crown jewels are darker than Rosalina's. She has a pacifier similarly to Baby Peach and Baby Daisy except that Baby Rosalina's is gold.

Baby Rosalina's emblem is a Grand Star like her adult counterpart except that it is inside teal bonnet frills.

Dr. Baby Rosalina wears a white lab coat, a cyan pacifier instead of a gold-colored one, and dark-turquoise shoes instead of dark-blue.

Baby Rosalina's detective outfit is largely similar to her regular outfit, the differences being that she wears a brown British detective's cap and mantle in place of her crown, and she carries a star-shaped magnifying glass.
