Hoss and Coach are a cowboy duo appearing in the Saturday Supercade episode "Get Along, Little Apey." Their names are a pun on the term "horse and coach," and speak with a stereotypical wild western dialect.
They first appear at the Greenhorn Texas Rodeo's sign-up location, where they gloat about their assured victory. When Mario, Pauline, and Donkey Kong enter the wild western-themed town, Hoss attempts to dissuade the Kong from entering the rodeo, but after he calls him a "yellow-bellied, lily-livered, gorilla sissy," Donkey Kong is so offended that he shoots two bananas in Hoss's cheeks, pulls his hat over his head, and throws him back to Coach, causing them to fall into a water trough. When getting back up, they notice his affections towards Pauline and decide to use them to their advantage, planning to capture her and bribe Donkey Kong to stay out of the rodeo.
At the One Star Saloon, Coach, in a female disguise, walks over to Donkey Kong to replace him as his partner. As he dances with him, his partner Hoss uses a lasso to try to capture Pauline, but misses. As he and Coach chase Pauline through the saloon, Donkey Kong grabs the tabletop Mario fell on and throws it underneath them, causing them to fall onto a buckling machine, which they use to kidnap Pauline in cartoonish fashion. They then shoot an arrow with their ransom note bundled around it into a pillar.
At the rodeo's location, Mario and Donkey Kong find Pauline in a barn's loft bound and gagged. As they rescue her, Hoss and Coach notice them and attempt to stop them. However, after Pauline drops some barrels into Donkey Kong and Mario's hands, the former manages to drop his barrel on Hoss, while Mario falls off the ladder and "rolls" into Coach, knocking the cowboy duo into a nearby well. Coach laments that they will no longer be able to stop Mario, Pauline, and Donkey Kong, though Hoss mentions that he still one more cheap trick for them.
As Donkey Kong emerges from his gate and begins winning over the announcer, the cowboy duo opens all the other gates at once, releasing the other livestock into the field. Hoss and Coach are last seen in their pickup truck, attempting to flee, but Donkey Kong manages to overturn it with another lasso.
