First appearance Mario is Missing! (1993)

Mayor L. S. Ismore is a character exclusive to the PC version of Mario is Missing!, appearing as the fictional mayor of Buenos Aires. His name is a play on the phrase "less is more." Like all other mayors in the game, he contacts Luigi via videophone upon his arrival in the city, as well as after all of the artifacts in the area have been returned to their rightful locations. In the first call, Mayor L. S. Ismore states that he tried to call Koopa Busters but they went out of business in 1986.

Once all of the artifacts have been recovered, Luigi receives a second call from Mayor L. S. Ismore, who thanks him for saving the city from the Koopas and wishes him luck on the rest of his adventure.

In the DOS version, he is depicted as a man with brown hair; a curator in Buenos Aires shares the same appearance as him. In the CD-ROM Deluxe version, he is depicted as a man with black and gray hair.

Quotes[edit]

  • "Hi, Luigi, this is Mayor L. S. Ismore. I looked under Koopa Busters in the phone book, but the last company went out of business in 1986. You are my only hope, and my hopes are way high. Read the newspaper and weep. These tortoise tricksters are very cunning, but their mothers dress them funny. Your job, should you care to accept it, is to stop them in their tracks."
  • "Luigi. You've saved our city from the Koopas, and the people are grateful. Thank you, good luck and good bye! And say hi to Mario when you find him!"
