Mayor Laabs is a character in the PC version of Mario is Missing!. He is the fictional mayor of Berlin. Like the other mayors, Mayor Laabs contacts Luigi via videophone when he first arrives in the city and another time once every artifact of the city is recovered.

Similarly to several other mayors in the game, Mayor Laabs is named after a member of the game's staff — in this case, after the game's designer, Don Laabs.

Quotes[edit]

  • "Luigi, this is Mayor Laabs. As you can read in the paper, certain members of our turtle population are laughing in the face of law and order. They are borrowing, without benefit of permission, our biggest and best city landmarks. They are making, and not returning, our most asked-for artifacts. Luigi, I am trusting you to set things right....and hey, be careful out there."
  • "Luigi. You've saved our city from the Koopas, and the people are grateful. Thank you, good luck and good bye! And say hi to Mario when you find him!"
