The Amsterdam mayor is a character exclusive to the PC versions of Mario is Missing!, appearing as the fictional mayor of Amsterdam, Netherlands. Like all other mayors in the game, they contact Luigi via videophone upon his arrival in the city, as well as after all of the artifacts in the area have been returned to their rightful locations. They are one of the two mayors who does not state their name to Luigi, with the other being the mayor of Toronto.

In the first call, they state that they plan on hiring a Super Wiley Anti-Turtle team to catch Koopas. Once all of the artifacts have been recovered, Luigi receives a second call from the mayor, who thanks him for saving the city from the Koopas and wishes him luck on the rest of his adventure.

In the newspaper from Istanbul, the news mentioned that the mayor said, "He came, he cleaned, he left. We hardly even got to thank him."[1]

The Amsterdam mayor is depicted as a man in the MS-DOS version, they are depicted as a woman in the CD-ROM Deluxe version.

Quotes[edit]

  • "I've sent you the newspapers, plumber, and the team is in place. As Mayor here, I plan on hiring a Super Wiley Anti-Turtle (SWAT) team to help you catch Koopas by the dozens. All we want is our artifacts back, and our streets turtle free. See this map? Every green pin is a landmark that's been dusted for turtle prints. Yes, those Koopas are crafty, but we're clever."
  • "Luigi. You've saved our city from the Koopas, and the people are grateful. Thank you, good luck and good bye! And say hi to Mario when you find him!"
