Appears in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

The Inkstriker is one of the four additional vehicle bodies in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe not present in the original game. It is one of the two ATVs based on the Splatoon series and in turn the Inklings' signature vehicles, the other being the Splat Buggy. Unlike the Splat Buggy, the vehicle is unlockable. The vehicle is named and based on the Inkstrike weapon from the Splatoon series. It has two tanks of ink at the back, which have the same ink color as the Inkling being played as (purple if playing as anyone else), and features unique exhaust pipes that spray ink when getting a speed boost. The emblem is located on the nose. Characters outside of the Inklings use the Purple Inkling Boy variation of the vehicle, with a ? Block featured in the vehicle (this also applies to Link, the Villagers, and Isabelle, who are not part of the Super Mario franchise). Inklings have their own color schemes, much similar in the vein of the Splat Buggy.

The Inkstriker shares its stats with the Sports Coupe and the Mach 8 karts. It boosts weight and traction while reducing acceleration and handling.

It uses the engine sound with the Landship. Similarly to the Blue Falcon, a small explosion sound can be heard when boosting using a Mushroom or driving through a Dash Panel; the Inkstriker's sound, however, is different and louder instead. It is also powered by a straight-twin engine.

CPU-controlled Inkling Boys and Inkling Girls occasionally use this vehicle body paired with Standard tires.
