“Sydney's main harbor was named Port Jackson by the explorer, Captain James Cook in 1770. The Australian harbor is famous for its beauty and easy access. The Sydney Harbor Bridge, nicknamed the "Old Coat Hanger," spans Port Jackson's narrowest channel. It connects North Sydney to an area called "The Rocks". The bridge was completed in March of 1932. 750,000 people attended the opening celebration. Its construction design, single arch suspension, was considered a great feat of engineering at the time.”

Much later, the Sydney Harbor Bridge would reappear in Mario Kart Tour as part of the course Sydney Sprint. It is crossed in the original Sydney Sprint route and in Sydney Sprint 2. In both layouts, the Tangara train will pass by, and its passengers will throw Mushrooms, Bananas, and Bob-ombs onto the track as racers pass.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[edit]

Sydney Sprint returns in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Booster Course Pass, and as such, the Harbor Bridge also returns. In this game, the passengers of the train will only throw Coins. The bridge now has ramps on it that are facing the opposite direction to the racers on the first lap, so they can only be used when racers cross from the other direction on the second and third laps.
