Baby Rosalina is a minor character in the Super Mario franchise designed to be the infant counterpart of Rosalina. Baby Rosalina debuted as an unlockable racer in Mario Kart 8, similarly to how Baby Daisy was introduced in Mario Kart Wii.
History[edit]
Mario Kart series[edit]
Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe[edit]

Baby Rosalina makes her overall debut in Mario Kart 8, where she is an unlockable character. She is a lightweight racer, and her stats are the same with the other playable baby characters, as well as Lemmy Koopa. She is used by Nin★Maria's staff ghost on Cloudtop Cruise in Time Trials. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Baby Rosalina is available from the start, and her statistics have also been slightly altered. She remains classified as a lightweight character, and her stats are the same with Lemmy. Her only rival is Toadette.
Mario Kart Tour[edit]
Baby Rosalina returns as a playable character in Mario Kart Tour. She was introduced in the Tokyo Tour update on October 8, 2019. She is classified as a Normal character, and her special item is the Bubble. In the closed beta test, however, her special item was the Boomerang Flower. On March 11, 2020, Baby Rosalina also became the focus of her own self-named tour, which introduced a variant of her wearing a detective outfit, named Baby Rosalina (Detective). This variant is a tour-exclusive High-End character, with the Dash Ring as her special item.
Baby Rosalina is one of the few characters in the game not to receive any new favorite tracks beyond her debut, with her only default favorite tracks being SNES Choco Island 2T and SNES Rainbow Road T. She shares this distinction with Baby Peach, Shy Guy, Dry Bones, Morton and Wendy.
Mario Kart World[edit]

Baby Rosalina will return as a playable character in the upcoming game Mario Kart World.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Baby Rosalina appears in the artwork for the Biddybuggy spirit. The spirit's battle features a small version of Rosalina & Luma as the opponent to reflect this. In addition, the music that plays during the battle is the Cloudtop Cruise theme, possibly referencing Baby Rosalina being the staff ghost of Cloudtop Cruise in her original appearance.
Dr. Mario World[edit]

In Dr. Mario World, Baby Rosalina appears as an unlockable playable character (referred to as Dr. Baby Rosalina). She was added around December 2019 along with Dr. Kamek. Her skill changes a random object into a rainbow capsule, in both stage mode and versus mode. Viruses are targeted first for being changed before certain other objects are targeted. Coins, capsules, objects that can eliminate viruses (e.g. Exploders) and objects that cannot be eliminated (e.g. Empty Blocks) cannot be transformed. In stage mode, only one object is transformed, while in versus mode, the number of objects transformed is different based on level, being 2 at level one and 10 at the maximum level. In versus, this skill has a delay in taking effect after activating it.
General information[edit]
Physical appearance[edit]
Like her adult counterpart, Baby Rosalina has fair skin, turquoise eyes with brown eyelashes (albeit four instead of six like her adult counterpart has), and platinum blonde hair with a large bang that obscures her right eye, albeit much shorter than Rosalina's. She wears a crown similar to Rosalina's, but much larger, in line with Baby Peach and Baby Daisy, a turquoise baby dress with short, frilly powder-blue sleeves and hem, light cyan baby bottoms, white tights, and dark blue Mary Jane shoes. Similar to Baby Peach and Baby Daisy, she has rosy cheeks and a round pacifier; like the latter, hers is yellow.
Baby Rosalina's emblem is a Grand Star like her adult counterpart, except that it is inside teal bonnet frills.
In Dr. Mario World, Baby Rosalina has a cyan pacifier instead of a yellow one, and her shoes are dark turquoise instead of dark blue. She also wears a white lab coat over her usual appearance.
In Mario Kart Tour, Baby Rosalina's detective form retains most of her default outfit, with the differences being that she wears a brown British detective's cap in place of her crown, a brown mantle, and she carries a star-shaped magnifying glass.
