Mario Kart 8 Party Starter was an activity on the Play Nintendo website.[1] It was an application where users could design printable objects, namely invitations, brackets, awards, and posters, intended to accompany and enhance a Mario Kart 8 tournament between friends.

Overview[edit]

The application starts with a title screen prompting the user to click anywhere to play. They are then greeted with four options: "Create invites", "Set up brackets", "Design awards", and "Make a poster".

The "Create invites" option brings the user to a placeholder invitation card with a Mario Kart 8 banner at the top. The user can write on the card, apply stamps depicting various characters, cups, and items in the game, add text boxes, draw using various colors, and even change the outer border. Once they are finished, the user can click on the "Done" button, where they then have the option to print out their invitation.

The "Set up brackets" option brings the user to a placeholder bracket with a Mario Kart 8 banner at the top, which the user can customize. They can apply stamps depicting various characters, cups, and items in the game, add text boxes, draw using various colors, change the outer border, and alter the number of competitors. Once they are finished, the user can click on the "Done" button, where they then have the option to print out their bracket.

The "Design awards" option brings the user to a placeholder award certificate with a Mario Kart 8 banner at the top. The user can write on the certificate, apply stamps depicting various characters, cups, and items in the game, add text boxes (including those of the top three ranks), draw using various colors, and even change the outer border. Once they are finished, the user can click on the "Done" button, where they then have the option to print out their certificate.

The "Make a poster" option brings the user to a placeholder poster with a Mario Kart 8 banner at the top, which the user can write on. They can apply stamps depicting various characters, cups, and items in the game, add text boxes, draw using various colors, and even change the outer border. Once they are finished, the user can click on the "Done" button, where they then have the option to print out their poster.
