Edmund Halley
Edmund Halley in the SNES release of Mario's Time Machine.

Edmond Halley, alternatively spelled Edmund Halley, is an English astronomer, mathematician, and member of the Royal Society most famous for his computation of the orbit of a comet that would be named in his honor. He is one of the historical personages that Mario interacts with in Mario's Time Machine, appearing in the SNES version.

Mario finds and returns a lens that Edmund Halley lost, receiving information on Isaac Newton in return. Halley also gives Mario a copy of the rough draft of The Principa.
