Anya-Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy (born April 16, 1996 in Miami, Florida, United States, and raised in Argentina and England) is an actress known for her starring roles in the horror films The Witch, Split, and The Menu; the period romantic comedy film Emma; the action film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga; and the Netflix miniseries The Queen's Gambit, the last of which she received several accolades for, including a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
Taylor-Joy voiced Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie co-produced by Illumination.[1] In an interview with E! News during the premiere of the film, Taylor-Joy stated that she was glad to have a role in a film that was suited for children given that most of her filmography was aimed more towards adults, and expressed interest in a Peach spin-off film.[2]
