Anya-Josephine Marie Taylor-Joy (born April 16, 1996 in Miami, Florida, United States, and raised in Argentina and England) is a British-American actress known for her starring roles in the horror films The Witch, Split, and The Menu; the period romantic comedy film Emma; the action film Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga; and the Netflix miniseries The Queen's Gambit, the last of which she received several accolades for, including a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.

Taylor-Joy voiced Princess Peach in The Super Mario Bros. Movie co-produced by Illumination.[2] In an interview with E! News during the premiere of the film, Taylor-Joy stated that she was glad to have a role in a film that was suited for children given that most of her filmography was aimed more towards adults, and expressed interest in a Peach spin-off film.[3]
