A Bull's-Eye Blaster, also referred to as simply Bill Blaster, is a type of Bill Blaster that fires Bull's-Eye Bills. Bill Blasters shooting the player-seeking Bullet Bills were distinguished from ordinary black ones in varying degrees[1][2] until Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, which established a consistent appearance.

History[edit]

Super Mario series[edit]

Super Mario Bros. 3[edit]

Black Turtle Cannons that shoot Missile Bills debut in Super Mario Bros. 3. They only appear in World 4-5.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii[edit]

In New Super Mario Bros. Wii, black Bill Blasters that shoot Missile Bills appear in World 9-3. In this appearance, they are mostly taller constructions in pits and are somewhat obscured by fog (which can be temporarily cleared via Spin Jump).

Super Mario Maker series[edit]

In Super Mario Maker and its port, they appear when the player shakes a Bill Blaster, where they are red once again. If any other enemy or item is placed inside one, it will fire that element indefinitely at a faster speed than normal Bill Blasters do. In all styles except New Super Mario Bros. U, their skull icon is replaced with a bull icon, a visual pun on their name.

They return in Super Mario Maker 2 under their current name. In the Super Mario 3D World style, they shoot Cat Bullet Bills. The skull also gains cat ears to show this.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder[edit]

In Super Mario Bros. Wonder, Bull's-Eye Blasters have a variation that can shoot out Renketsu Search Killers.

Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]

Red Turtle Cannons appear in Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 in the final secret level, Endless World of Yoshis. Like green Turtle Cannons, they are fixed in two directions, unlike yellow Turtle Cannons. Like the game's other Turtle Cannons, they do not have their usual skull icon. This is the first game to color-code them red.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker[edit]

Red Bill Blasters appear in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, where they appear to be their modern iteration as they are differentiated from black Bill Blasters.

Yoshi's Woolly World / Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World[edit]

In Yoshi's Woolly World and its port, red Bill Blasters appear in Knot-Wing the Koopa's Sky Fort. The ones in alcoves only fire in one direction, but the ones hanging on the ceiling point themselves at Yoshi. They have a similar appearance as the red cannons in the previous Yoshi game.

Unused appearances[edit]

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island[edit]

Though they appear in the Game Boy Advance version, Red Turtle Cannons went unused in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
