The spotlight[1] is an object resembling a disco ball that appears at the end of Bowser's Castle (whether entering through the Front Door or the Back Door) in Super Mario World. The spotlight is toggled whenever the player hits a red ? Block in the castle. The spotlight is dark red while turned off and gray while turned on; when activated, it shines a ray of light into the room that moves left and right, allowing the player to see more clearly in the otherwise dark room.
