Big Yarn Ball
First appearance Yoshi's Woolly World (2015)
Greater location Craft Island

The Big Yarn Ball is the centerpiece of Craft Island in Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World. It is white, with a nest of strands of yarn of varying colors surrounding it. All of the yarn is on top of a doily. Exclusively in Yoshi's Woolly World, white butterflies fly around the ball.

The Big Yarn Ball is an element of the aforementioned games' opening cutscene. When Kamek starts dashing across Craft Island, using a spell to turn all of the Yoshis into Wonder Wool, he knocks one Yoshi (of a color dependent on save file) into the Big Yarn Ball. Red Yoshi, who hid inside, jumps in during the spell, and both Yoshis end up being unaffected by the magic.

The Big Yarn Ball continues to be present throughout the game, but to no gameplay effect. In Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, it is one of the "nodes" on Craft Island, but selecting it has no effect.

After collecting all but the final five Smiley Flowers in the game, the Big Yarn Ball transforms into Wonderful World of Wool, the final course of the game. The white ball transforms into a Yoshi's Egg with spots of different colors.
