Luigi visits the Rockefeller Center in the SNES and NES versions of Mario is Missing! after Koopa Troopas invade and steal the Statue of Prometheus, along with several other items from other buildings in the city. Luigi has to find and return it to the Center. To prove it is genuine, he has to answer the following questions:

  • The statue that overlooks the skating rink is:
    • John D. Rockefeller
    • Hans Brinker
    • Prometheus
  • Rockefeller Center street closes once a year because:
    • the streetcleaners need a break. (SNES)/it's a janitors holiday (NES)
    • the ice skating rink is closed.
    • so the street will remain private property. (SNES)/it is private property. (NES)

In the PC version of Mario is Missing!, the Rockefeller Center technically still appears, albeit indirectly, as Luigi visits Radio City Music Hall instead, which is located within the center. Despite this difference, the pamphlet description, entirely concerned with Radio City Music Hall, is identical between versions of the game.
