Hidden Coins[1] (also known as Dash Coins)[2] are items in the Super Mario series. These coins are somewhat rare, and they appear in only a few levels. They first appear as outlines of coins, but if a character passes through the outlines, Hidden Coins will then turn into regular coins about a second later.

Yoshi's Island series[edit]

Hidden Coins appear in the Yoshi's Island series as items. They first appear in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and its remake in general, functioning as the coin equivalent of Dotted Line Blocks and appearing temporarily when a switch is pressed and changing back when it wears off. Hidden Coins also appear in Yoshi's New Island, where they behave like in New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

Hidden Coins are sometimes found on top of ? Blocks, where they are collected when the player hits the ? Blocks.

Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope[edit]

Hidden Coins make an appearance in Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope. These coins are invisible until the player uses Beep-0's Scan Power in certain areas to make them appear.
