Sliding doors[1] appear in Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury as interactable objects resembling shoji doors. In order to finish the level and to collect Key Coins, a player is required to use the Wii U GamePad to tap these doors to open them. After being opened, they remain open until the level is reloaded. Sliding doors are used to cover enemies and objects. Sets of doors at the beginning of the level have an indication that tells the player to use the Wii U GamePad.
21 sliding doors appear in Hands-On Hall and Back to Hands-On Hall each, for a total of 42.
