First appearance Super Mario Odyssey (2017)

Puzzle Parts are capturable objects in Super Mario Odyssey. After Mario captures them, he can roll them around when the player moves Left Stick, allowing him to solve puzzles. Like other inanimate capturable objects, they each have a small green ball on the top of them to indicate that they can be captured. They do not gain any advantages if the player shakes the Joy-Con or Pro Controller.

The first type of Puzzle Part appears in the Lake Kingdom in a secret area near the Water Plaza, where it takes the form of a large stone block with a small staircase on one face. A nearby Lochlady tells Mario that she really wants to solve the puzzle, but she is unable to do so as the block is too heavy. One face of the block has a triangular hole on it, which must fit into a triangular rock. If the objective is done successfully, the Lochlady will reward Mario with a Power Moon. It can be obtained only after Rango is defeated.

The second type of Puzzle Part appears in the Underground Power Plant of the Metro Kingdom, where it takes the form of a green metallic block-shaped battery. The sides of the block have the words "New Donk City Power" on them. Another face has what appears to be multiple wires connected to it, while the bottom has holes for an electrical outlet. Mario must capture the block and roll it into a plug, which will bring even more power to New Donk City. Mario will once again be rewarded with a Power Moon if the objective is done successfully. It is obtainable only after Bowser is defeated in the Moon Kingdom.
