World Warp Pipes[1] are objects from Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World. They are orange pipes found in Warp Zones that bring the player character to a subsequent world without needing to complete all of the current one's courses. They are the spiritual successors to the green pipes in Warp Zones from the older 2D Super Mario games. Unlike the pipes of older Warp Zones, World Warp Pipes only bring the player character to the immediate subsequent world and only one is found in a Warp Zone.

In both Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World, the courses that World Warp Pipes appear in are analogs to the ones with Warp Zones from the original Super Mario Bros.World 1-2 and 4-2.

History[edit]

Super Mario 3D Land[edit]

World Warp Pipes are found hidden in two underground-themed courses in Super Mario 3D Land. In World 1-2, Mario (or Luigi) can reach the World Warp Pipe by circumnavigating the green pipe at the end of the course that leads to the Goal Pole above ground. This World Warp Pipe brings Mario to World 2. In World 4-2, Mario needs to use Mushroom Trampolines to reach a hidden alcove above the intended exit. The World Warp Pipe found here brings Mario to World 5.

Super Mario 3D World / Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury[edit]

In Koopa Troopa Cave, the player character can find a World Warp Pipe at the top of a wall near the Clear Pipe that leads to the course's Stamp. This wall can only be ascended if the character is in their Cat form. This World Warp Pipe brings them to World 2. In Piranha Creeper Creek, the player character again must be in their Cat form to reach the World Warp Pipe. They must ascend a wall near a Roulette Block and ride a series of floating platforms to reach the narrow bank of the poisonous creek, where the World Warp Pipe can be found. This one brings them to World 5.

World Warp Pipes are only present in the original Super Mario 3D World campaign. They are not incorporated into Bowser's Fury.
