In the Wii U version of Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the Christ the Redeemer Statue is visible in the intro movie and from Copacabana Beach. Additionally, the statue is depicted in two of the game's Stamps.

In the Nintendo 3DS version, Corcovado, and thus the Christ the Redeemer Statue, is one of the areas present in Copacabana in the Road to Rio mode. During the events of Mario Story, a townsperson near the station of Corcovado's railway tells the player that there have been sightings of a shadow on the mountain despite the railcar not running. At the end of Day 6, the player, with the help of Princess Peach and Yoshi, uses the Mysterious Map to find Mario's location, which takes them via a Warp Pipe to the top of Corcovado right under the Christ the Redeemer Statue, where they find Mario and Toad. Toad explains that Mario and Sonic have been investigating the strange events happening recently and that Mario has been looking for the medals stolen from the Hall of Medals by watching the city from the top of the mountain, which allowed him to find Bowser as the culprit. Toad then asks the player to help them with finding where the medals are by winning tomorrow's Golf Event against Bowser, so that Bowser will steal the medal and lead them to his hiding place.
