Erik the Swift, Baleog the Fierce and Olaf the Stout are the protagonists of the video game series The Lost Vikings by Blizzard Entertainment, of which the first game was originally released in 1993 for the SNES. The three men are Vikings sporting typical attributes of fictional Vikings such as horned helmets and long beards. They appeared once in the Super Mario franchise in the second part of the Club Nintendo comic "Super Mario: Verloren in der Zeit." Following The Lost Vikings games, the comic shows Erik, Baleog and Olaf getting lost in time.

After Mario tried to get back to his time with the malfunctioning time machine formed like an alarm clock, he was teleported to the Viking age instead. The alarm clock fell right in front of the feet of the Vikings. They inspected the unusual object and before Mario could stop them, Olaf unintentionally activated the time machine and the Vikings were sent to present-day New York City. There the highly confused men caused panic and were arrested by some policemen who thought that the Vikings were holding an illegal demonstration. They were told by a judge that the alarm clock had to be confiscated. However, the Vikings knew that the alarm clock caused the time travel and grabbed the "ticking box." During their absence, Mario was forced by the angry Viking women to work for them, but was celebrated by the people when he defeated another Viking tribe that attacked the village. At this time, the Viking trio returned after Erik activated the time machine. Being angry at Mario, Baleog threw the alarm clock at Mario who hastily set the Clock again and continued his time travel.

The Vikings are never referred to by their names in the comic.
