Ray J in the Club Mario segment for The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Stars in Their Eyes"
Full name Honest Ray J
Species Human
First appearance Club Mario (1990)

Ray J, also known as Honest Ray J, is a character who appears during the Club Mario segment for The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Stars in Their Eyes." He is a salesman that often advertises various products through various television advertisements. In the segment, he is shown advertising the "Trunk-O-Matic," which is actually just an elephant.

During his commercial, Ray J advertises the Trunk-O-Matic as being able to do anything around the house, including vacuum cleaning, which features it sweeping up some peanuts with its trunk, sprinkling, which features it using its trunk to pick up a pitcher of salt and pour it on an ear of corn he is holding, and watering plants, which features a person holding the elephant's trunk to pour an excessive amount of water on some potted lilacs, knocking it over. Ray J then continues by saying that it also functions as a snorkel, a siphon, a smeller, and a blower, among many other things.

Notes[edit]

  • During the scene where the Trunk-O-Matic picks up the pitcher of salt, the background has not been properly rendered, resulting in a green screen being visible. This is fixed in the next shot.
