Calamity Clam, The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!

Calamity Clam is a person who only appears in "The Great Gold Coin Rush" in The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! He is the sheriff of Lonesome Mushroom, a town that is nearly abandoned, and is also the owner of every building of the town, changing his hat when switching buildings. He accidentally shocks Mario, Luigi, Princess Toadstool, and Toad when he first sees them, and afterwards describes his profession and the state of his town. When Toad asks for an assay of his gold coins from the mine, Calamity Clam is shocked by how genuine the gold coins were, quickly resulting in the ghost town to transform to a boom town. In the midst of this discovery, however, the group were intercepted by Klaimjump Koopa, who demanded the gold for himself. Calamity Clam is forced to escape with Mario, Luigi and Princess Toadstool, leaving Toad and the miners behind with Klaimjump Koopa.

Later, Clam and the others return to the town, only to find it empty again. After sensing an earthquake, the group quickly head towards the mine and are horrified that Toad and the miners are digging gold for Klaimjump Koopa. Clam tells Mario that the Fire Flowers are in the Fire Flower Mine, which they promptly obtain. It is unknown what happens to him after the group successfully defeats Klaimjump Koopa.
