Scooter is a Mushroom inhabitant of the island of Waki-Waki and the leader of the Aloha People.
In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "Too Hot to Handle", Scooter is the one who greets Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Toadstool on behalf of the Aloha People when they arrive on Waki-Waki. After giving Princess Toadstool a grass lei, Scooter quickly runs away to find shelter when the volcano of Waki-Waki begins to cause an earthquake, which Scooter believes to be caused by the Fire God of Waki-Waki.
Later, after hearing an announcement from the Fire God (in actuality, King Koopa disguising himself as the Fire God) saying that Princess Toadstool needs to be thrown into the volcano by sundown or else Waki-Waki will be destroyed, Scooter orders the capture of Princess Toadstool. Even though Mario tries to tell him that it was not the Fire God who ordered Princess Toadstool's sacrifice, but rather King Koopa, Scooter ignores him and has Mario, Luigi and Toad thrown into a pit while he and his friend Bingo take Princess Toadstool to the mouth of the volcano, with the intent of throwing her in it.
Eventually reaching the mouth of the volcano, Scooter and Bingo prepare to throw Princess Toadstool into it, only for Bingo to remember and subsequently remind Scooter that the Fire God had ordered them to throw Princess Toadstool into the volcano at sundown. Hearing Bingo, Scooter decides to simply wait until sundown to throw Princess Toadstool into the volcano, not wanting to disobey and anger the Fire God. Despite Mario, Luigi and Toad's, who had escaped the pit they were in, protests, Scooter and Bingo eventually do throw Princess Toadstool into the volcano, after being tricked into thinking it was an early sundown by an impatient King Koopa.
After King Koopa and Fryguy are defeated and their Lava Machine were destroyed, Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool reveal to Scooter and the rest of the Aloha People that they had been manipulated by King Koopa into doing his bidding. After tearfully apologizing to Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool, Scooter deciphers a smoke signal meant for them from the real Fire God, who says he is alright and wishes to throw a celebratory spaghetti luau for Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Toadstool. Along with the rest of the Aloha People, Scooter is seen in attendance at this spaghetti luau.
