Giuseppe, The Super Mario Bros. Movie

Giuseppe is a character in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. He is a citizen of Brooklyn with a stereotypical Italian accent, reminiscent of the classic Mario voice, who is an acquaintance of Mario and Luigi, and who plays an arcade game called Jump Man in Punch-Out Pizzeria. He physically resembles the original look of Mario from the Donkey Kong arcade game, complete with the matching red hat and a pair of red trousers with suspenders, along with a blue button up shirt and tie.

Giuseppe praises Mario and Luigi's Italian accents in their Super Mario Bros. Plumbing commercial, while speaking with the voice Mario has in the Mario game series portrayed by Charles Martinet, who provides the English voice for Giuseppe in the film. Martinet also voices Giuseppe in multiple foreign dubs of the film, such as both the Brazilian and European Portuguese dub, both the Canadian and European French dub, the German dub, both the Latin American and European Spanish dub, the Catalan dub, the Italian dub, the Vietnamese dub, and the Finnish dub.
