Istanbul (Turkish: İstanbul) is the largest city and the former capital of Turkey. Appearing in the PC versions of Mario is Missing!, Luigi can enter the first door of the fifth floor to enter Istanbul. In the game, its mayor is Mayor A. Cheever.
Koopas stole three artifacts from Istanbul: the Turkish towel from the Harem Baths from Topkapi Museum, the tile from the Blue Mosque, and the Turkish Flag from Galata Bridge, respectively.

- Diamond Disaster Averted
- While searching for his missing brother Mario in Amsterdam, Luigi prevented the theft of millions of dollars worth of diamonds from the Amsterdam Diamond Center. The grateful Mayor said, "He came, he cleaned, he left. We hardly even got to thank him."
- Turtle Trouble
- After the defeat of Iggy Koopa at his castle in Antarctica, Bowser has stepped up his efforts to wreak worlwide woe. A large influx of tiptoeing turtles appears to be related to the recent thefts of items from the Harem Baths, the Blue Mosque and the Galata Bridge. Sketches of the suspects start on page 3.
