Plum, Mario Golf (Nintendo 64)

Plum is a little girl and an amateur golfer who first appears in the Nintendo 64 version of Mario Golf.

History

Mario Golf

Plum is a playable character in Mario Golf. She is one of the characters available by default. Plum is generally a well-balanced golfer, though she lacks strength; as such, she cannot drive the ball very far. However, Plum makes up for her lack of power with technique and control. She also has a straight shot trajectory. She has black hair with double side ponytails and wears a blue shirt with a red neckline, black shorts, white socks, and white sneakers.

Plum is non-playable in the handheld counterpart, explaining and defining golf terms instead. She is depicted with red hair in this game, likely because of the palette limitations of the Game Boy Color.

Super Smash Bros. series

Plum has made two cameos in the Super Smash Bros. series. In Super Smash Bros. Melee, there is a trophy of Plum, the only character debuting in the Mario Golf series. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, there is a sticker of Plum, which can be equipped to any fighter in The Subspace Emissary to increase their attack power by five points.

How to unlock: Randomly obtainable from single-player modes only
Plum is one of the first playable golfers in Mario Golf. She's not all that strong, so her drives tend to lack distance. On the other hand, her strike area is large and allows for refined control. She's a very stable golfer, both well balanced and easy to master, which makes her a favorite among beginners and pros alike.
