Evil Eric is the evil twin brother of Co-MC, who appears as a recurring character in the Club Mario television series. He is one of the two sons of Bob and Mary Putter, the other being Co-MC.

History

"The Ringer"

In the Club Mario segment for The Legend of Zelda episode "The Ringer," after the cartoon segment, Evil Eric is seen sitting in a beach chair with a Mario doll between legs. He asks Tommy Treehugger, who is holding a wand and spellbook, to turn to page 467 in the book, which he promptly does. After reading the contents of the page, the screen flashes, showing Evil Eric having been turned into a jerk. He then introduces himself to the viewer, saying that they serve himself, before snatching the wand and spellbook from Tommy. He then orders him to sit in the beach chair, which he promptly does, holding his hands up. Evil Eric then walks over to a bubble machine, questioning why there would be bubbles in his show, and promptly disconnects the machine. Walking back over to Tommy, he tells him that he can put his hands down, saying that he can play with the doll or do something else.

Later, it is revealed that Evil Eric has taped Tommy's mouth with duct tape and tied his hands and feet together with ropes. He then announces to the viewer that he has the spellbook and wand, explaining that it is his show. When Tommy tries to protest about being captured, Evil Eric tells him to be quiet, before telling the viewer that he is going to perform more tricks for them. He then opens to another page in the spellbook, reading the contents from the page. The screen then flashes again, this time showing Tommy having been turned into a fern.

Evil Eric expresses excitement on the spell working on Tommy, explaining that he is now a fern. He then tells Tommy not to worry, explaining that he will be good to him before pouring some water onto him. He then explains to the viewer that he is getting better at magic, before saying goodbye to them, explaining that Tommy and Co-MC will return and that he and Tommy need to "surf on out of here."

"Cold Spells"

In the Club Mario segment for The Legend of Zelda episode "Cold Spells," Evil Eric is first mentioned by Tommy while on the phone with Co-MC, explaining that he was on the show last week and turned him into a fern. Evil Eric later appears as Tommy is about to go "satellite surfing," though upon seeing him, he decides to watch Spaced Out Theater instead.

Afterwards, Evil Eric is playing with the Mario doll, which he makes punch several "bad guy" action figures. After Tommy explains that he and Evil Eric featuring the action figures on their show is technically a violation of standard merchandising proceedures, the latter counters, saying that it is his show, though Tommy corrects him by saying that Club Mario is their show. Evil Eric is then seen cheering on a mechanical dragon toy as it walks towards a mechanical scorpion and triceratops. Tommy then asks him what he will have for lunch, to which he responds that, since he would not but him some sloppy joes, he brought some "gator chowder" and "gator sauce," which he obtained by killing an alligator himself, which Tommy finds as horrendous.

After "satellite surfing," Tommy tells the cameraman to pan up to him and Evil Eric, who are standing near the grill, with Evil Eric remarking that his "gator sauce" tastes great. Tommy mentions that he was well-behaved today, unlike how he usually is, with him thanking him for being on the show. He and Tommy say goodbye to the viewer, though the former finishes the last line with "...my waves" instead of "...our waves," causing an argument between the two over who the airwaves belong to.

"That Sinking Feeling"

Evil Eric reappears in the Club Mario segment for The Legend of Zelda episode "That Sinking Feeling," where several outtakes featuring him in the segments for "Robo Koopa" and an unknown segment are shown. This is also the only segment where both Co-MC and Evil Eric are present in the same segment.

Personality

Evil Eric is said to be as the identical twin brother of Co-MC, often taking his place whenever he is absent. His personality is similar to that of Co-MC's, but with all of his negative qualities being amplified. Co-MC, while portrayed as being more domineering than Tommy, is still mostly friendly towards him, allowing him to be a co-host on Club Mario. Evil Eric, on the other hand, is depicted as being egotistical; such examples include referring to Club Mario as "Club Eric" and telling other actors to be quiet, saying that it is his show. He is often shown bothering and abusing Tommy while on the show, such as turning him into a fern in the Club Mario segment for The Legend of Zelda episode "The Ringer," sometimes with the help of Tommy's sister Tammy Treehugger, who he is also bothered by. While Evil Eric does work with with both of them to help produce the show, it is merely a means to an end, with the intention of boosting his own career. Evil is also depicted as slightly childish, as he speaks in a high-pitched voice.

Despite this, there are times when Evil Eric is more friendly towards Tommy, such as in the segment for the The Legend of Zelda episode "Cold Spells," where he is also shown to like sloppy joes. Additionally, Evil Eric likes to "satellite surf," like Tommy and Co-MC.

Notes

  • In the segment for The Legend of Zelda episode "That Sinking Feeling," it is implied that Evil Eric is merely the alter ego of Co-MC, as some of the segments featuring him are the Evil Eric segments. Additionally, both Co-MC and Evil Eric are played by the same actor, Michael Anthony Rawlins.
