The Taronga Zoo koala is a koala from the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia. It appears in the PC, SNES, and NES versions of Mario is Missing!, where it is kidnapped from the zoo by a Koopa Troopa. Luigi must defeat the Koopa, return the koala to the zoo before it can resume operating.
Information
- Boy: It's so cute I can't bear it, even though Koalas[sic] aren't bears.
- Tourist: "Along with 'roos and wombats, they're Australian mascots."
- Reporter: "That's a koala, and all of them live in Australia."
- Scientist: "That's a tree-dwelling marsupial and he eats eucalyptus. You can ferry to the zoo or put him on the bus."
- Policewoman: "That koala would like to return to Taronga Park, please hurry. It's a short ride on the ferry."
