“Nearby to the Kasbah are the famous Saadian Tombs, a catacombed palace for the dead. The tombs were built by the Saadian sultan (ruler) to shelter his family in death. Sealed by superstitious successors to the sultan, the tombs show the luxury and wealth rulers lavished on their families, even in death. There are 166 burial plots beneath the two-story structure, including the tomb called "The Chamber of Twelve Columns." Influenced by the Alhambra in Spain, the tombs are covered with painstakingly complicated hand-carved tiles.”

The Saadian Tombs (Arabic: قبر السعديين Qubur As-Sa'adiyyin) is a necropolis in Marrakech. In the PC versions of Mario is Missing!, Koopa Troopas steal the Carved Tile from it, forcing its information booth to close until Luigi tracks it down and returns it, proving its authenticity by answering the following trivia questions:

  • The tombs are sealed because:
    • of local ordinances
    • of superstitions
    • of grave robbers
    • the keys are lost
  • The Saadian Tombs show the sultan's:
    • good taste
    • lavish wealth
    • funny bone
