In the PC, SNES, and NES versions of Mario is Missing!, a surfboard from Bondi Beach is stolen by Koopa Troopas raiding the city of Sydney, Australia. Without this surfboard, the entirety of Bondi Beach is shut down until Luigi tracks down the surfboard and returns it.
