Istanbul is the largest city and the former capital of Turkey. Appearing in the PC versions of Mario is Missing!, Luigi can enter the first door of the fifth floor to enter Istanbul. In the game, its mayor is Mayor A. Cheever.
Koopas stole three artifacts from Istanbul: the Turkish towel from the Harem Baths from Topkapi Museum, the tile from the Blue Mosque, and the Turkish Flag from Galata Bridge, respectively.
