Howard Stevens is a character on The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! He is an art expert and appraiser who hosts a show called Lifestyles of the Poor and Unknown (a parody of the real show Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, hosted by Robin Leach). He constantly speaks as if he were hosting an appraisal show. He appears in the live-action segment "The Painting."

Howard is called in to appraise a painting that Mario and Luigi found while cleaning. After taking a quick look at it, Howard says that it is a painting by Leonardo da Vinci Rooney called The Second-to-Last Supper, thought to be lost forever. He estimates that it is worth "over a hundred zillion dollars," causing Mario and Luigi to become excited over the prospects of being rich. However, Howard soon notices that it is actually a knock-off painting by Leonardo da Vinci Mahoney, since he always includes his uncle in his paintings. He promptly explains that the painting is completely worthless, but he offers to buy the painting's frame for seven dollars, which Mario and Luigi take immediately.
