Species Human
First appearance "The Painting"
Portrayed by Andy Heyward

Howard Stevens is an art expert and appraiser who hosts a show called Lifestyles of the Poor and Unknown. He constantly speaks as if he was hosting an appraisal show.

History

In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! live-action segment "The Painting", Howard is called in to appraise a painting that Mario and Luigi found while cleaning. After taking a quick look at it, he says that it's a painting by Leonardo da Vinci Rooney called "The Second-to-Last Supper", thought to be lost forever. He estimates that it is worth "over a hundred zillion dollars", causing Mario and Luigi to become excited over the prospects of being rich. However, he soon notices that it's actually a knock-off painting by Leonardo da Vinci Mahoney, since he always includes his uncle in his paintings. He promptly explains that the painting is completely worthless, but he offers to buy the painting's frame for seven dollars, which Mario and Luigi take immediately.

Trivia

  • Howard is portrayed by Andy Heyward, the show's creative music supervisor and executive producer. Despite this, Andy is credited under his character's name in the credits.
