By chapter[edit]
General[edit]
- Goombella: "Let's hold the Crystal Star in front of the Thousand-Year Door! I'm sure you remember, but it's below Rogueport."
- Goombella: "Let's hold the Crystal Star up in front of the Thousand-Year Door!"
- Goombella: "Let's head back to Rogueport."
Prologue[edit]
- Goombella: "Let's look for Professor Frankly! I know he lives somewhere in town..."
- Goombella: "The professor is waiting for us outside. Let's go!"
- Goombella: "Let's use the pipe in front of the professor's house to get down underneath the town."
- Goombella: "Wherever the Thousand-Year Door is, it sure is hidden well... Let's go back and search the areas underground."
- Goombella: "That Thousand-Year Door must be nearby. Let's keep moving forward."
- Goombella: "I don't think we can get through this debris. Let's go back the way we came."
- Goombella: "The floor is moving! How are we supposed to get to that pipe ahead of here?"
- Goombella: "You think anything happens if you hit one of those blocks with a hammer?"
- Goombella: "There's a switch here. You wanna hit it or stomp on it or something?"
- Goombella: "That black treasure-chest thing is so mysterious... Can we check it out?"
- Goombella: "I wonder where the key is for the black chest. Maybe it's closer than we think."
- Goombella: "There's no key in this room. Let's look someplace else."
- Goombella: "We found the key the black chest was talking about!"
- Goombella: "The Black Key we found must open something down here... Let's just move on for now."
- Goombella: "Looks like there's nothing else here. Let's keep going."
- Goombella: "Didn't you just learn how to be an airplane? You might be able to use that."
- Goombella: "Let's go take another look at the Thousand-Year Door. It was on sublevel three."
- Goombella: "So that's the Thousand-Year Door! There's probably a place where you're supposed to hold the map up..."
- Goombella: "I think we could hold up the Magical Map on that pedestal in front of the door, don't you think?"
- Goombella: "Let's head back beneath Rogueport. There should be a pipe underground that connects with Petal Meadows."
- Goombella: "There should be a pipe somewhere underground that can take us to Petal Meadows."
- Goombella: "Maybe you need to turn into a plane to find the pipe that connects with Petal Meadows?"
- Goombella: "I dunno—I have this feeling that the pipe to Petal Meadows isn't this way."
- Goombella: "Ew, did that thing move? You could test it by jumping on it, but it's kind of slimy and gross, so maybe just use your hammer?"
- Goombella: "Let's return to Petal Meadows to find that Crystal Star."
Chapter 1[edit]
- Goombella: "All right, let's go find that Crystal Star!"
- Goombella: "Sometimes everything looks ordinary, then you hit something with your hammer and make a discovery."
- Goombella: "Let's talk to the mayor of Petalburg to see what he knows. He lives in a pink house!"
- Goombella: "Let's head to Shhwonk Fortress, past Petalburg. I guess we just follow the road here..."
- Goombella: "Let's head to Shhwonk Fortress! I guess we just follow this path?"
- Goombella: "Where could the Sun Stone and Moon Stone be? Eh, let's move on for now."
- Goombella: "We'll get through this somehow! If there's something you want to investigate, let me help!"
- Goombella: "Why not try hitting that statue or whatever it is with your hammer?"
- Goombella: "You think there's an item we can use to defeat the enemies here? Maybe something that shakes the ground?"
- Goombella: "This room looks just like the last one. So we can give these pedestals the same treatment."
- Goombella: "What a strange statue..."
- Goombella: "We probably can't move ahead unless we deal with the strange statue deep in the fortress."
- Goombella: "Let's try going into the pipe that popped out of the bottom of that weird statue and explore more!"
- Goombella: "We still don't know where the Sun Stone is, but let's move on for now."
- Goombella: "We still don't know where the Moon Stone is, but let's move on for now."
- Goombella: "If we use the stones that we found, we should be able to get to Hooktail Castle through a secret pipe. Hey, didn't we see sun and moon shapes near the area where we first saw Hooktail?"
- Goombella: "I think we should let Koops join us. We're not gonna keep him waiting outside of Petalburg forever, right?"
- Goombella: "I wonder if there are any clues around here related to the secret pipe? We already have the Sun Stone and Moon Stone, so if there's some place we can use them, we're set."
- Koops: "Huh. These switches are kinda funny. Maybe I can help you trigger them both at once? If you hold , I'll stay put so you can move around...uh, until you're ready to let go, that is."
- Goombella: "That place where we used the Sun and Moon Stones seemed a little off. Wanna go take another look?"
- Goombella: "Let's use the secret pipe and go to Hooktail Castle!"
- Goombella: "Hooktail Castle is coming up... Mario, are you ready?"
- Goombella: "Let's head back to Hooktail Castle."
- Goombella: "It sounds like Hooktail has the Crystal Star. Let's keep moving."
- Goombella: "Let's find a way to get past the broken bridge. Sometimes you gotta go back when you can't go forward."
- Goombella: "We gotta find a way to get past that broken bridge. Think we can go over it somehow?"
- Goombella: "How are we supposed to move with all these guys in the way? Can you hammer 'em out of the way, Mario?"
- Koops: "Y-you wanna try using my ability if you're in trouble?"
- Koops: "Maybe try using my ability when you're in trouble? If you hold , I'll stay put. Then you can move around and do other stuff until you're ready to let go."
- Goombella: "This seems weirdly familiar, but... I guess we should find this Black Key?"
- Goombella: "Mario, we're running out of time! We need to escape this room fast!"
- Goombella: "There's a black chest. Let's check it out."
- Goombella: "What do you think, Mario? Should we open the black chest with that key we found?"
- Goombella: "You can pass through narrow spaces if you turn sideways with . I'll bet there's a place you can use that."
- Goombella: "This room sure has a lot of windows... Think they're all the same, or is one different from the others?"
- Goombella: "Think there's anything interesting in this room?"
- Goombella: "Let's find a pipe that connects with Boggly Woods. There's probably one underneath Rogueport."
- Goombella: "Have you ever seen one of the little creatures from Boggly Woods? I hear they visit this town sometimes."
- Goombella: "I have this hunch that the pipe to Boggly Woods isn't on this side of town."
- Goombella: "Wasn't that one of the creatures the professor mentioned? I wonder if there's some way to follow it..."
- Goombella: "Let's get back to sublevel three and try to follow that strange little creature!"
- Goombella: "Let's try to talk with that creature from Boggly Woods. It must know how to get there... and might let us follow!"
- Goombella: "Let's talk to Punio and follow him to Boggly Woods. He's waiting for us on sublevel three!"
- Goombella: "Let's go see Punio. He can probably help us get to Boggly Woods."
- Goombella: "Let's head back to the pipe that connects with Boggly Woods. It was in Rogueport on sublevel three."
- Goombella: "Let's go through that pipe Punio told us about that connects with Boggly Woods."
- Goombella: "We should probably head back to Boggly Woods..."
Chapter 2[edit]
- Goombella: "The Crystal Star is somewhere in the Great Tree. Let's keep going along this road."
- Goombella: "Punio went ahead to the Great Tree. Let's meet him there."
- Goombella: "How do we get inside this giant tree? Let's ask Punio."
- Goombella: "Punio is waiting for us a little way up the Great Tree. Let's talk to him."
- Goombella: "Let's look for Flurrie's house. It's deep in the woods."
- Goombella: "Sometimes there are paths hiding in plain sight, like close to a wall! Pretty sneaky, huh?"
- Goombella: "The pipe extended itself. Think you could glide across to that ledge as a plane?"
- Goombella: "Even when it looks like there's no way forward, there might be a path if you look hard. Maybe a narrow passage?"
- Goombella: "Could Flurrie really not be here? Let's go farther in."
- Goombella: "We still haven't met Flurrie. Are you sure we don't need to go back to her house?"
- Goombella: "I feel like we saw Flurrie's necklace somewhere, right? Wasn't it right after we got to the forest?"
- Goombella: "The Three Shadows dropped the necklace we need before they ran off! We're gonna grab it, right?"
- Goombella: "Let's deliver the necklace to Flurrie."
- Goombella: "Let's go back to the Great Tree and find the secret entrance."
- Flurrie: "The secret entrance is higher up on the Great Tree, yes? Then I shall uncover it for you with a press of ."
- Goombella: "Punio opened the door for us. Let's go inside the Great Tree."
- Goombella: "Shouldn't we head back to the Great Tree and find the Crystal Star?"
- Goombella: "The Crystal Star should be somewhere in the Great Tree. Let's keep looking."
- Goombella: "Where were the Punies taken? I guess we just have to keep exploring the tree."
- Goombella: "We need the cell keys in order to rescue the Punies. Let's find 'em!"
- Goombella: "We got the Red Key. I guess we can open one of the cells with this?"
- Goombella: "Let's pick up that cell key the X-Naut dropped."
- Goombella: "I wonder where the elder is... Want to go check where Puniper and the others were?"
- Goombella: "We need the Blue Key in order to save Petuni and the others. It wasn't up top, so maybe it's below?"
- Goombella: "If you place the Puni Orb on the pedestal, the Punies gather there. What's that number next to it?"
- Flurrie: "The poor little Punies are too small to get over the gaps to that platform. If only they were in bubbles... Then I could simply blow them over!"
- Goombella: "Let's go after the Jabbi that has the Blue Key! It's toward the right on sublevel two!"
- Goombella: "Let's help the Punies. I'll bet we could help in the battle if we could make the Jabbies dizzy somehow!"
- Goombella: "We'll need everyone on board to beat the Jabbies. Are we missing any of the Punies?"
- Goombella: "I wonder where the Blue Key is. Maybe head in the direction the Jabbi came from?"
- Goombella: "We got the Blue Key! Now we can rescue Petuni and the others."
- Goombella: "With the Punies helping us, we'll find that Crystal Star in no time! I think it's at the very bottom of this tree..."
- Goombella: "This looks like a dead end. Maybe put the Puni Orb on the pedestal and see what happens?"
- Goombella: "Mario, do you have an ability that can get us out of here?"
- Goombella: "We need to find a way to rescue all the Punies!"
- Goombella: "Didn't we see pillars with patterns on them somewhere? Maybe on sublevel two, where the Jabbies were?"
- Goombella: "I think I remember the pictures on the black pillars. There was a sun..."
- Goombella: "That's a big treasure chest. Seems like there should be something AMAZING in there."
- Goombella: "There's a panel on the floor you can break here. Wanna use your new ability, Mario?"
- Goombella: "If we act now, we might be able to rescue all the Punies!"
- Flurrie: "We might be able to rescue the Punies by dropping them into the hole! Don't you agree?"
- Flurrie: "So there's a hole here as well! Does that mean it's my turn in the spotlight yet again?"
- Koops: "Hey, uh, just as a reminder... you can move around while you're holding me in place. Y'know, in case that helps."
- Goombella: "There's a pedestal. Let's try putting the Puni Orb there. By the way, do you have all the Punies here?"
- Goombella: "Let's get out of here right away! There should be an exit if we go to the first level."
Chapter 3[edit]
- Goombella: "There must be a way to meet Don Pianta. You want to try getting information on the west side?"
- Goombella: "We can't move on to the west side without a replacement contact lens. Maybe they sell them at the store?"
- Goombella: "Let's go take a walk while we wait for our contact-lens order."
- Goombella: "Looks like they got a contact lens in stock at the Rogueport shop. Let's go buy it!"
- Goombella: "Let's give the contact lens to that person who's blocking the path to the west side."
- Goombella: "Adventuring is hard. Sometimes you need to take a break and relax... and maybe even play a few games!"
- Goombella: "Let's go talk to Ishnail in the east side of town. Maybe someone can tell us exactly where he is..."
- Goombella: "We can't find out how to talk to Don Pianta unless we give 64 coins to Ishnail!"
- Goombella: "Ishnail told us the way to meet Don Pianta! What was it again? We should go to the store next to Pianta Parlor in the west side and buy a Dried Mushroom then a Dizzy Dial. Then the shopkeeper will ask you your favorite color, and you need to answer "yellow"...right?"
- Goombella: "Were you able to buy those two things just like Ishnail told us? Maybe we're forgetting something... It might help to step back outside and clear our heads."
- Goombella: "That shop on the west side has a rear entrance! Let's go see Don Pianta to get that Blimp Ticket to Glitzville."
- Goombella: "Let's look for Frankie and Francesca. If they're going far, maybe they're waiting for a ship at the port."
- Goombella: "We found Frankie and Francesca... Maybe we should check in with Don Pianta one more time."
- Goombella: "Don Pianta is being oddly sweet right now. Quick! Ask him for a Blimp Ticket!"
- Goombella: "Glitzville, here we come... after we find where to board the blimp. Have we checked every area in the west side?"
- Goombella: "Let's head to Glitzville! The boarding area for the blimp is somewhere deep into the western side of town."
- Goombella: "We should get back to Glitzville! That's where the action is, right?"
- Goombella: "Where do you think the Crystal Star is hidden? Might as well start looking in the biggest building here..."
- Goombella: "Let's head back to the Glitz Pit."
- Goombella: "Where do you think the Crystal Star is hidden? Maybe it's behind that huge door?"
- Goombella: "Let's find whoever's in charge of the Glitz Pit and ask to be fighters. Maybe someone knows who to ask..."
- Goombella: "We need to meet Grubba, and he's the promoter here... so let's check inside the promoter's office!"
- Goombella: "It looks like we can't become fighters unless we sign Grubba's contract..."
- Goombella: "All we have to do is access the computer on the wall and choose "Ranked Match"! Nice and simple."
- Goombella: "We have to raise your rank to become the champion! Let's use the computer in the locker room to reserve a match."
- Goombella: "Our match is coming up... Are you ready to throw down, Mario?"
- Goombella: "Maybe we should go outside to catch our breath... and check out the new menu at the hot-dog stand! Mmm..."
- Goombella: "Let's catch that egg! Try stunning it with a bop from your hammer! Or try ramming into it! Uh...gently-ish."
- Goombella: "There must be some way to get on top of the hot-dog stand... Let's take a spin around Glitzville and find it!"
- Goombella: "We could reach the hot-dog stand from a high-up spot... What about the top of the fresh-juice shop?"
- Goombella: "Looks like this egg is sleeping. Want to try talking to it?"
- Goombella: "We need to keep entering matches so you can become the champion. Let's head back to the locker room, OK?"
- Yoshi: "Let's go win a match! With me by your side out there, your opponents won't stand a chance!"
- Yoshi: "Leave it to me, Gonzales! With my help, we'll take down any foes they throw at us—and look cool doing it!"
- Goombella: "Let's keep fighting until you're the champion! Just use the computer in the locker room to enter a match."
- Goombella: "Let's try going to the watering hole. I think it was just outside of the Glitz Pit, right?"
- Goombella: "Well, we came to the watering hole... What should we do now? Should we try talking to some folks?"
- Goombella: "What do you think "the blockade" is? I think I remember something big and yellow in the corner of a locker room..."
- Goombella: "When they say "blockade," do they mean that thing in the minor-league locker room? Let's try hitting it HARD!"
- Yoshi: "Are you trying to explore behind that locker-room wall you broke? If you feel stuck, let me help you out!"
- Goombella: "Where was that telephone booth? Did we see it before? Let's take another look around Glitzville."
- Goombella: "Where was that storage room again? Looks like all we need to do is find a door that's locked."
- Goombella: "We should look inside the storage room you just unlocked!"
- Flurrie: "Which switch will grant us access to the second floor? Perhaps it's hidden behind something..."
- Yoshi: "Hey, Gonzales! I might be able to flutter over gaps that you normally can't cross. Let me help out!"
- Goombella: "Maybe the new big, yellow block is just like the other big, yellow block that was, y'know, blocking the wall..."
- Goombella: "This is the first time I've ever snooped from above! Ooh, I hope there's a little vent we can spy through..."
- Goombella: "There must be some way we can slip through here to get down there..."
- Flurrie: "It's a shame to take down those handsome posters of you, Mario... but if we must, we must!"
- Flurrie: "Let's claim the key! What an odd choice, hiding it behind a poster in the lobby like that..."
- Goombella: "That last email said, "Go to the second floor of the storage room."
- Goombella: "We found King K and Bandy Andy! Talk to them, Mario! See if they're OK."
- Goombella: "Well, all we can do for now is continue fighting in matches, I guess..."
- Flurrie: "We must get out of here at once! Ohhh, if only we could simply blow some part of the wall away..."
- Goombella: "We need to get out of here! Let's try every possible kind of exit that we can fit into!"
- Goombella: "No way. Don't tell me we're going to... I mean, there's no way we're actually going to, uh... Ohhh, this better work!"
- Goombella: "The match is gonna start soon. Let's hurry to the ring!"
- Goombella: "Let's try for the champion title again! Just use the computer in the locker room to enter a match."
- Yoshi: "Let's go back to that spot in the champion's room where we heard the voice. I'll help you get there!"
- Goombella: "Maybe the ventilation cover will open if you whack it hard enough to break one of those big blocks..."
- Goombella: "We heard the voice from behind the vent inside the champ's room, right? Then I guess we'd better check it out!"
- Goombella: "I wonder what kind of documents are hidden in Grubba's desk drawer... Want to take a quick look?"
- Goombella: "I'm curious about Grubba's hidden documents. Let's sneak into his office through the ventilation duct again!"
- Goombella: "Come on, let's chase after Grubba! He's probably heading for the ring!"
- Goombella: "Grubba's in the ring! I'll bet the real-deal Crystal Star is there too!"
Chapter 4[edit]
If attempting to use Partner Hints after Mario becomes a shadow but before meeting Vivian, the following text is displayed: "You can't use partner hints when you have no partners in the party."
- Goombella: "The professor said the pipe to Twilight Town is below the west area of town. Let's go!"
- Goombella: "Uhhh... I don't think the pipe we need is near here. It was "underneath the west part of Rogueport," wasn't it?"
- Goombella: "The pipe to Twilight Town should be underneath this area. See any way to slip straight down there?"
- Yoshi: "Any time you need to cross a gap, you can count on me, Gonzales!"
- Goombella: "Hey, Mario... Do you think this is the pipe to Twilight Town?"
- Goombella: "That one pipe definitely leads to Twilight Town... so why did it spit us back out? Let's ask Professor Frankly."
- Goombella: "Darkly likes dark places, right? Maybe he hides in shadowy corners... like the one behind Professor Frankly's house."
- Goombella: "OK, we're all set to enter the pipe to Twilight Town! Remember the place? It's under the west part of town."
- Goombella: "Shouldn't we head back to Twilight Town? We still have important things to do there!"
- Goombella: "It looks like the Crystal Star is inside Creepy Steeple. That place is deep in the forest... and far from town..."
- Goombella: "Let's head to the mayor's house and get his permission to pass through the town gate."
- Goombella: "Since the mayor's a pig, we can't get his permission... What should we do? Bargain with the gatekeeper, maybe?"
- Goombella: "So that's a dead end. Hey, didn't we hear crying from inside one of the houses? Maybe we can help!"
- Goombella: "That poor woman is crying... See if you can help her somehow, Mario!"
- Goombella: "Well, nothing's getting done until we can get out of the village. Let's talk to the gatekeeper again."
- Goombella: "Now's our chance! Sorry, gatekeeper, but we're gonna pass on through..."
- Goombella: "Maybe we can move the big rock in front of the hut... Wanna see what happens if we try to push it?"
- Goombella: "OK! Let's check inside the hut!"
- Koops: "I can see something just past the downed tree... Should I, uh, scoot underneath with my shell to grab it?"
- Goombella: "Think the key we found unlocks the door to that one shop's storage room?"
- Goombella: "Feel free to take whatever you want out of there." That's what I heard, so let's take something!"
- Goombella: "Let's look for the key to the black chest. Maybe we should search that hut outside of town..."
- Goombella: "Let's use that key we found to open the black chest in the shop's storage room!"
- Goombella: "If you roll your way under the fallen tree outside of town, we might be able to pass through..."
- Flurrie: "This is QUITE a pile of straw here. Imagine what would happen if you used my ability on it, oh ho ho!"
- Goombella: "There's so much grass growing here, it's hard follow the path... See any spots where you can pass through?"
- Flurrie: "This tree is splendid... and suspicious. I wonder if anything is hidden there."
- Flurrie: "When you're in a bind, be sure to keep an eye on the ground, not just straight ahead."
- Goombella: "Hey, Mario... This hole is covered up. You have a sturdy stomp with the ability to change that!"
- Goombella: "This rock looks to be about the same size as the one in front of that shack. So if you give it a good push, then..."
- Goombella: "Something tells me we're here a bit... early. Does that make sense? Let's head back."
- Goombella: "The gate is locked. If only there was some other way in... or some kind of space to sneak through..."
- Goombella: "You OK, Mario? Let's head back inside Creepy Steeple..."
- Goombella: "Where is that Crystal Star hiding? It's supposed to be somewhere inside Creepy Steeple, isn't it?"
- Goombella: "Those marks under the star statue... It looks like something was dragged. Do you think that thing... moves?"
- Goombella: "Ugh, these are all dead ends! I wish we could ask somebody for help... like that ghost in the hall..."
- Goombella: "What's up with all of those ghosts?! Stay focused... Maybe those blocked doors will open for us now?"
- Goombella: "There's a switch here... Don't you want to hit it?"
- Goombella: "I heard a noise when that switch was pressed... like something heavy moved. Which room did it come from?"
- Goombella: "That square mark on the floor seems to match the staircase. Do you think it moved somehow?"
- Goombella: "We're back in the big hall! Let's give the staircase and the corridors a real good look this time."
- Goombella: "I wonder... Do you think that staircase has always been there? Or was it moved somehow?"
- Goombella: "Let's look for the key to the door. Have we checked both of the upper walkways in the main hall yet?"
- Koops: "There's something past the gap. I bet I can get it..."
- Yoshi: "There's something past the gap here. Let me help you get it!"
- Goombella: "See a locked door anywhere? Maybe if we move the stairs to reach the upper walkways in the big hall..."
- Vivian: "A clue about the monster's real name is hidden below Creepy Steeple... Guess we'd better check it out!"
- Vivian: "A clue about that monster's real name is supposed to be below this steeple... but you've been through here before. Did you miss some other way into Creepy Steeple? Maybe there's one hidden outside..."
- Vivian: "There's a well near the front gate, right? I'll bet you could remove the wooden lid on it somehow..."
- Vivian: "There might be places below Creepy Steeple that you haven't seen yet. Maybe the well leads somewhere..."
- Vivian: "The path keeps going... so I guess we should keep following it."
- Vivian: "You might be able to shove those bars forward... then I could hide us in the shadows. Let's work together!"
- Vivian: "It's pretty cramped in here... Do you have any abilities that can fix that?"
- Vivian: "Where do you think that monster is hiding his real name? Hmm..."
- Vivian: "A parrot? Down here? Must be a bit shy around strangers... but my shadow ability might let us eavesdrop again..."
- Vivian: "So part of that monster's name is hidden in this room... Let's look for it!"
- Vivian: "There's something about that room with the parrot... Let's go back."
- Vivian: "Now we know that monster's name! Let's go find him in his earlier spot and get your name and body back!"
- Vivian: "That monster's name is Doopliss! Let's go find him in his earlier spot and get your name and body back!"
- Vivian: "Doopliss must have scurried back to Creepy Steeple. Let's go after him!"
- Vivian: "Let's chase after Doopliss! If his room is hard to find, we could probably try moving the stairs..."
Chapter 5[edit]
- Goombella: "Let's ask the people in Rogueport Harbor what they know about Keelhaul Key."
- Goombella: "Flavio might help us get a ship. Sounds like we can find him at Podley's Place in the inn by the town square!"
- Goombella: "Once we're ready to go, all we have to do is talk to Flavio on his ship in Rogueport Harbor."
- Goombella: "I wonder where Bobbery is... I bet lots of rumors flow through Podley's Place. How about we try asking him?"
- Goombella: "We're looking for a house just past the wall in the eastern part of town... That's by the professor! Let's ask him."
- Goombella: "Bobbery is supposed to live just to the right of Professor Frankly's house. Let's go meet him!"
- Goombella: "Bobbery's house is locked! Let's look for another way in. Check it on all sides... and on top too!"
- Yoshi: "Hey, I can get us to the other side of that river! Let me give it a try!"
- Goombella: "There's a chimney up on the roof. If you take a close look, you can see it has a small opening!"
- Goombella: "This is the house that Podley talked about, right? So that means..."
- Goombella: "I wonder why Bobbery doesn't want to sail anymore... There must be a story, so we should ask the professor... or..."
- Goombella: "Let's talk to Podley about Bobbery. Maybe he'll know what's up..."
- Goombella: "Bobbery is in his house on the east side of town. Let's head there and give him Scarlette's letter."
- Goombella: "All right! I think we can finally head to Keelhaul Key! Let's get to Rogueport Harbor and set sail."
- Goombella: "Sounds like a hut is ready for us. Let's go check it out!"
- Goombella: "Let's explore the island. I want to see how deep into this jungle we can go!"
- Goombella: "When you feel stuck, take a breath, then carefully check the surrounding area. Even the walls!"
- Yoshi: "Need help reaching a far-off platform? Let me help, Gonzales!"
- Goombella: "Bobbery did what he could to help the others escape... We should go back and help him, Mario!"
- Goombella: "We can't abandon Bobbery! Let's go save him! I heard his voice coming from the area past the rope bridge."
- Goombella: "Hang on, Bobbery! We'll save you from those ghosts... right, Mario?"
- Goombella: "Is Bobbery up that tree?! He'd better be careful! If anything hits the tree, he might fall out of it..."
- Goombella: "We need to find some Chuckola Cola for Bobbery. Maybe Flavio could help us out with this?"
- Goombella: "I wonder what sort of native foods are growing on this island... Maybe the trees are hiding some fruit!"
- Goombella: "Guess we found some of this island's native food... What should we do with it? Think Flavio will take it?"
- Goombella: "Look! You can see a tiny island from way out behind the rope bridge. We should go check it out somehow. Sure would be nice if there was an easy way to get there..."
- Goombella: "Hm? Oh, sorry, Mario... I can't stop wondering about that tiny island we saw near the rope bridge..."
- Yoshi: "Any time you need to cross a gap, you can count on me, Gonzales!"
- Goombella: "I bet we can easily grab the stuff growing in this tree if we give it a solid whack..."
- Goombella: "Let's give Bobbery the Chuckola Cola. He's waiting up past the rope bridge."
- Goombella: "Oh, poor Bobbery... Y-you don't think he's..."
- Goombella: "Let's give Bobbery an oh-so-gentle wake-up tap, Mario."
- Goombella: "Let's go tell Flavio that Bobbery is OK!"
- Goombella: "Let's go check out that skull rock! It's sitting in the deepest depths of the jungle."
- Goombella: "I think Flavio has something that'll fit into the skull rock. Let's ask him about it!"
- Goombella: "Let's place the Skull Gem into that indentation in the rock."
- Goombella: "What should we do with those 'stached statues? Wait...didn't Flavio sing something about 'staches?"
- Goombella: "Three times Red 'Stache lands on his end! Blue Stache's belly four times is whacked"... The smaller of the two rocks is the one with the red 'stache. I'll bet that feels oddly familiar...right, Mario?"
- Bobbery: "The top of the skull rock has opened, but we still can't get inside. Might this be my time to shine?"
- Goombella: "There might be a Crystal Star in the grotto that's deep into the jungle! Let's go check it out."
- Goombella: "Let's head back to the Pirate's Grotto, Mario."
- Goombella: "Do you think the Crystal Star could be hiding somewhere in this grotto? Let's look around!"
- Vivian: "Those spikes are dangerous... but we'll be safe from them if we hide in the shadows. I'll keep you safe, Mario!"
- Yoshi: "My legs are so strong and so fast, I bet I could rush us past those spikes before they pop out!"
- Goombella: "Those spikes are dangerous. Think you could turn papery thin and slip right through them?"
- Yoshi: "You can't cross the wide gap on your own, Gonzales! I'll lend you a hand to get us to the other side. Hop on!"
- Bobbery: "I do believe there's a switch up there. Stand back! It's Bobbery's turn in the spotlight!"
- Koops: "If you need to activate that switch at the same time that you're on the lift... maybe my ability can help?"
- Bobbery: "I take it that our goal should be to activate the switch when you're as close to the lift as possible, yes?"
- Goombella: "Am I misremembering, or did we see a locked door earlier?"
- Goombella: "Spikes are popping out of the wall! Are there any safe spots in here? Let's look carefully, top to bottom."
- Vivian: "Those spikes are dangerous... but we'll be safe from them if we hide in the shadows. I'll keep you safe, Mario!"
- Bobbery: "The rock blocking our way is cracked down the middle... I might be able to, ahem, MOTIVATE it out of our way!"
- Goombella: "Look, Mario! Another black chest... We know what to do by now, right?"
- Goombella: "Let's make quick work of that ghost the chest mentioned to get the Black Key we need."
- Goombella: "We got the Black Key! I'll, uh, let you decide whether we open that black chest or not, Mario."
- Goombella: "Haven't we seen a panel with a boat on it somewhere? I think there was one on top of the big waterfall..."
- Goombella: "I bet we could check more areas if the sluice gate was open. Question is... how do we get it open?"
- Goombella: "Let's keep our eyes peeled while we cruise around as a boat. We might spot something useful."
- Goombella: "We got a Gate Handle! Let's look for a spot where we can use it. We can reach land by jumping from the boat."
- Goombella: "Let's look for a place where we can use that handle. Since the gate is near the giant waterfall, then..."
- Goombella: "Let's use your boat trick one more time at the top of the big waterfall and see what's past the sluice gate!"
- Goombella: "All of the sailors on that boat are about to go down with the ship! We have to save them, Mario!"
- Goombella: "While flying, you can press to turn back to normal. That might come in handy if you're having trouble landing where you want."
- Goombella: "Looks like the sailors got across the barrels and made it back to dry land! Let's follow their lead."
- Goombella: "The Crystal Star should be in a ship hidden deep within the grotto. Let's go find it, Mario!"
- Goombella: "We got the Crystal Star! Now... let's rejoin Francesca and the others, then find a way out of here!"
- Yoshi: "Any time you need to cross a gap, you can count on me, Gonzales!"
- Bobbery: "I suspect I could make quick work of a cracked wall, old boy. Please, allow me to assist."
- Goombella: "Time to go, Mario. We've "grotto" get out of here!"
- Goombella: "For now, let's head back to where Flavio and the others are."
- Goombella: "Let's visit Cortez! We'll get there fast if we enter the grotto through that one busted opening."
- Goombella: "Let's visit Cortez! He should be inside his ship."
- Goombella: "I don't think we can reach Cortez from here. Let's head back to where everyone else is waiting!"
- Goombella: "Guess we should leave for now..."
Chapter 6[edit]
- Goombella: "Guess we'll have to ask Don Pianta for a ticket to the Excess Express... Back through that west-side shop we go!"
- Goombella: "Frankie and Francesca should be in Keelhaul Key. Let's head over there."
- Goombella: "We need to take Frankie and Francesca to Don Pianta's place... so let's head back to Keelhaul Key!"
- Goombella: "I wonder where Frankie and Francesca are? Let's ask around and see if anyone knows."
- Goombella: "So Frankie and Francesca went into the jungle? Guess we should follow them in there..."
- Goombella: "Is that Frankie and Francesca near the water? Let's chat with them."
- Goombella: "They said they dropped the Wedding Ring somewhere on the way to those red and blue 'stached statues..."
- Goombella: "Thank goodness we found that Wedding Ring! Let's return it to Frankie and Francesca."
- Goombella: "We should take the boat back to Rogueport now. Don Pianta is probably waiting for us..."
- Goombella: "Let's go see Don Pianta on the west side of town. Maybe he'll feel better after seeing Francesca and Frankie..."
- Goombella: "Time to ride the Excess Express and visit Poshley Heights! The station is in the west side of town. Let's go!"
- Goombella: "Let's find the villain behind that Threatening Note! We should probably start by talking with the train crew."
- Goombella: "Let's tell the conductor about the Threatening Note. We'll find him at the rear end of the train."
- Goombella: "I can't stop wondering who's behind that Threatening Note... Maybe we should explore the train some more?"
- Goombella: "Looks like something happened in the dining car. Should we ask about it?"
- Goombella: "I wonder if the stew thief dropped any clues in the dining car..."
- Goombella: "We'll probably find the thief if we follow the trail of spilled stew!"
- Goombella: "The Toad in cabin three is acting kind of suspicious. He mentioned his own drawer... Should we search his cabin?"
- Goombella: "The detective is in cabin six. Any idea what he wants to talk about?"
- Goombella: "Who's this family... and can they really blow up a train?! We should start by checking the cabins in car four..."
- Goombella: "I feel bad for little Bub in cabin eight. Come on, Mario... Let's hear him out!"
- Goombella: "Bub wants something that starts with "au"... What could it be? Let's search the train and talk to some witnesses."
- Goombella: "Sounds like little Bub dreams of becoming a train engineer... Think that has anything to do with the thing he wants that starts with "au"? Let's ask around some more..."
- Goombella: "So maybe Bub is looking for an "au"tograph from someone he admires. Let's see if we can dig up more info by asking around."
- Goombella: "So! Bub wants an "au"tograph from a certain someone... but who? Could it be someone on this train?"
- Goombella: "Let's go over the info we've gathered. Bub wants an "au"tograph from someone he admires... We also know that Bub wants to be a train engineer when he grows up. So the reasonable conclusion is..."
- Goombella: "Let's go over the info we've gathered. Bub wants an "au"tograph from someone... We also know that Bub wants to be a train engineer when he grows up. So the reasonable conclusion is..."
- Goombella: "We've got an autograph from the train engineer. Think this'll make Bub happy? Let's visit him in cabin eight."
- Goombella: "The family in cabin eight don't seem to be the culprits... Maybe we should check with Pennington in cabin six?"
- Goombella: "Let's hear what the conductor has to say. He should be in the fourth car."
- Goombella: "The blanket thief might also be behind the Threatening Note! Time for a train-wide investigation."
- Goombella: "Noises were heard coming from cabin four, but no one should be in there. Let's go investigate!"
- Vivian: "I sense a presence here. Maybe they'll reveal themselves if we use my ability to make them think they're alone..."
- Goombella: "The only way we're gonna get that blanket back is to hear what the ghost in cabin four needs help with."
- Goombella: "The ghost's diary should be in the baggage car. Let's go explain everything to the conductor in car four and ask him to let us check in there."
- Goombella: "Let's search the baggage car for the ghost's diary."
- Goombella: "Where could that diary be? Let's look carefully and search each and every corner—even the smallest gaps!"
- Goombella: "Let's return the diary to the ghost in cabin four. The urge to read it is strong... but we won't give in... right?"
- Goombella: "Let's give the blanket back to the conductor! Then the poor guy won't have to shiver in the cold anymore."
- Goombella: "It's a good time to call it a night. Let's head back to cabin five and get some rest."
- Goombella: "We need to find out who wrote that threatening note. Maybe Pennington in cabin six has news for us?"
- Goombella: "Let's search for clues to learn who stole that briefcase. Check everything you see—even stuff like stray papers!"
- Goombella: "The paper we picked up in Zip Toad's cabin looks important! Let's show it to Pennington back in cabin six."
- Goombella: "Let's look for Zip Toad. I think we should check each and every cabin."
- Goombella: "Sounds like someone was in our cabin, Mario. Let's go look."
- Vivian: "The thief might be hiding in here. Maybe they'll show themselves if we hide in the shadows together..."
- Goombella: "The thief is probably still in cabin five where they dropped the document! Let's go back and check things out."
- Goombella: "Zip Toad is hopping all over cabin five! He knows he's not THAT kind of toad, right? Let's catch him!"
- Goombella: "We should step out for some fresh air as well. The exit's up in car one."
- Goombella: "This is Riverside Station. Why don't we take this chance to look around? We could talk to the station crew too!"
- Goombella: "So... the train can't go anywhere while the drawbridge is up. Let's help the station crew out!"
- Goombella: "The switch for the drawbridge is located somewhere below the station. Question is... how do we get there?"
- Goombella: "Maybe we could get through here if you used one of your abilities?"
- Goombella: "Sometimes it helps to take a step back and just watch... Let's study the way these gears move before we cross."
- Goombella: "Let's move forward carefully. Look for any gaps we can slip through or spots we can stand on!"
- Koops: "There's something on that platform. I bet you can get it with my help... if you want to, that is."
- Yoshi: "There's something on that platform. I bet I could get us over there, no sweat!"
- Goombella: "Hey, Mario... wasn't there something important in the far side of that room with all the gears?"
- Goombella: "There must be some place here where we can use the key we found..."
- Flurrie: "So many posters all over the wall... I'm certain I could whip up a strong gust of wind to blow them all away!"
- Goombella: "Let's look carefully for any spots you might be able to sneak through..."
- Goombella: "It's like a maze in here! We'll have to remember the path we've taken so we don't get lost."
- Goombella: "I see a key up high over there, but I don't think we can reach it yet."
- Goombella: "The Goombas near the boxes are in our way. Let's teach those loiterers a lesson, Mario!"
- Goombella: "What do you think the numbers on the switches mean? Maybe they're, like...a counter?"
- Goombella: "That wall switch popped out!"
- Goombella: "That is one big treasure chest..."
- Goombella: "I'll bet your Spring Jump could launch you high enough to grab pipes way up above you..."
- Goombella: "Now we need to get out of here... With any luck, there'll be some kind of gap we can slip through."
- Yoshi: "You see that key way up high, right? I could get us closer to it by helping you cross a gap!"
- Goombella: "We left the key behind in that underground office. Let's go get it!"
- Goombella: "I'm curious about that key up there... Think you could put that Spring Jump you learned to good use?"
- Goombella: "If we use the Elevator Key on the elevator near the entrance, it'll probably work again!"
- Goombella: "Any idea where an elevator might be hiding in this place? Let's just head back to the station entrance for now."
- Goombella: "Think there's an elevator around here somewhere?"
- Goombella: "We need to lower the drawbridge. Let's head back to the switch room!"
- Goombella: "What are those weird things?! Can you drive them away using your hammer?"
- Koops: "What are those gross creatures? I can help you drive them away if you want..."
- Flurrie: "What are those icky things? I might be able to help you drive them away..."
- Bobbery: "What are those foul creatures? I stand ready to blow them out of our way on your order!"
- Goombella: "There was a lever hidden under all those weird creatures..."
- Goombella: "A switch! It's the switch-room switch! I guess we'd better switch it, huh?"
- Goombella: "Do you think the drawbridge got lowered? Let's get out of here."
- Goombella: "Looks like the drawbridge was lowered correctly! Let's make our way back onboard the train."
- Goombella: "It won't be long until we reach Poshley Heights. Let's call it a day and get some sleep."
- Goombella: "We've still got time before we arrive at Poshley Heights. Let's walk around to admire the train before the trip ends!"
- Goombella: "I'm worried about all of the other passengers! Let's go make sure they're OK. We should check this whole train, front to back!"
- Goombella: "What is up with those gross critters in the baggage car?! Quick, smack 'em with your hammer, Mario!"
- Koops: "Let's drive those gross creatures out of the baggage car! I'll help!"
- Flurrie: "We must drive those icky creatures out of the baggage car! Allow me to assist, dear!"
- Bobbery: "We must drive those pesky things out of the baggage car! I'll help you blast them— Err, persuade them to leave!"
- Goombella: "Mario! We need to do something about all of those gross creatures in the baggage car!"
- Goombella: "Let's chase after those creatures! We could take the high road if you grab that hanging pipe..."
- Goombella: "We have to chase after those icky creatures! They escaped through the back of the baggage car."
- Goombella: "There's so many of them! Drive them away with your hammer so we can keep moving forward!"
- Koops: "We need to keep moving forward! Can you use your hammer to drive them away? I'll help out too!"
- Flurrie: "We must make our way through these icky fiends! Give them a taste of your hammer, Mario! I'll help out as well."
- Bobbery: "Hmph! We'll have to make our way through these pests. Drive them off with your hammer. I shall assist you!"
- Goombella: "Let's head to Poshley Sanctum. The exit for the train is in car one."
- Goombella: "Let's head to Poshley Sanctum. Do you think we can get there if we just follow the road?"
- Goombella: "How can we get inside Poshley Sanctum? Guess we should take a good look around."
- Goombella: "OK, Mario! Time to head inside Poshley Sanctum."
- Goombella: "The ☆ marks on the floor sure stand out in here... Think they're supposed to be some kind of sign?"
- Goombella: "The Crystal Star has to be in Poshley Sanctum somewhere!"
- Goombella: "A Crystal Star! Hidden inside the sanctum's picture! Can you believe it, Mario?"
- Goombella: "Now that we've got the Crystal Star... let's get out of here!"
Chapter 7[edit]
- Goombella: "Let's kill some time outside while we wait for Professor Frankly to finish... We should check back in a bit though."
- Goombella: "I wouldn't be surprised if the professor is done by now. Let's speak with him again."
- Goombella: "Let's look for the Ultra Hammer. It's in a place that stands out somewhere in Rogueport... Maybe the town square?"
- Goombella: "Let's look for the Ultra Hammer... if we can avoid staring at the giant chest here, that is. It really... stands out..."
- Goombella: "Let's find the pipe that leads to Fahr Outpost. I bet it's under the west side. Call it... Goomba's intuition!"
- Goombella: "Off to Fahr Outpost! I think your Ultra Hammer already cleared the way to the pipe in the west-side sewers."
- Goombella: "The pipe to Fahr Outpost must be around here somewhere, right?"
- Goombella: "Let's make our way to Fahr Outpost. It's just up ahead... and it'll be warmer than this spot, I hope. Brrr!"
- Goombella: "Let's head back to Fahr Outpost. We have stuff to do there!"
- Goombella: "Where is this cannon that can shoot us to the moon? Let's try asking the locals about it."
- Bobbery: "Mario, old boy... Perhaps the outpost mayor will be more receptive if I guide the negotiation, Bob-omb to Bob-omb."
- Goombella: "Goldbob is Bub's father, right? Where did we last see him? As for General White...do you have any idea where he might be? Maybe some quiet, peaceful town?"
- Goombella: "Our next step is to locate General White. It wouldn't surprise me if he was in some quiet, peaceful town."
- Goombella: "General White is probably in Petalburg. Let's head over there."
- Goombella: "We should let the mayor of Fahr Outpost know that General White is back."
- Goombella: "Goldbob is supposed to be in Poshley Heights. Let's go talk to him."
- Goombella: "We can't just TELL Goldbob in Poshley Heights that we're serious about using the cannon... We'll have to SHOW him!"
- Goombella: "I wonder if we'll find General White here somewhere. Let's ask the locals if they know anything."
- Goombella: "I wonder if any of the locals have seen General White. Let's ask around."
- Goombella: "It sounds like General White took off for a southern island... Oh! He must have traveled out to...y'know..."
- Goombella: "Let's ask around if anyone has seen General White."
- Goombella: "Supposedly General White took off for a city floating in the sky. There can't be THAT many of those, right?"
- Goombella: "I wonder if any of the locals have seen General White. Let's ask around."
- Goombella: "We heard that General White took off for a huge tree in a forest. Well, I only know one of those..."
- Goombella: "Let's ask the Punies if any of them have seen General White."
- Goombella: "General White took off for a dark place. That reminds me of a place we visited..."
- Goombella: "I wonder if any of the locals have seen General White. Let's ask around."
- Goombella: "We learned that General White took off while looking very tired. When I'm tired, I always want to go back home... Maybe that's just me."
- Goombella: "Where do you think General White would go to rest?"
- Goombella: "We found a sleeping Bob-omb that's suitably snowy-white... Let's see if we can wake him up!"
- Goombella: "Let's head back to the house where we found the snowy-colored Bob-omb."
- Goombella: "Don't give up! Keep going until General White wakes up!"
- Goombella: "We should be able to use the cannon now. Let's report back to the mayor of Fahr Outpost."
- Goombella: "Almost time to blast off to the moon! Are you ready? Just make sure you're prepared before talking to the mayor."
- Goombella: "I guess the moon is just rocks, rocks, and... more rocks. Let's look for clues about the princess or the Crystal Star."
- Bobbery: "That building back there is mighty suspicious if you ask me... Let's search for a way to get over there. I'll assist!"
- Goombella: "We should head inside this building. There might be a clue in there about Princess Peach or the Crystal Star!"
- Goombella: "What do you think this building is for? Let's keep moving forward for now..."
- Goombella: "We should probably go back inside the building..."
- Goombella: "Let's head back inside the X-Naut Fortress. I'm sure Princess Peach and the Crystal Star are both inside!"
- Goombella: "Princess Peach and the Crystal Star should be in this building somewhere! Let's check every corner..."
- Goombella: "I guess you can't use this elevator unless you have a key. Let's look around for one."
- Goombella: "I'm not seeing any clues to help us find Princess Peach or the Crystal Star here. Let's look somewhere else."
- Goombella: "Glowing panels... Can you memorize the path? If you need to clear your head, try exiting and reentering."
- Goombella: "We can use the key we got to operate the elevator. Let's try checking out a different level."
- Goombella: "Have we checked everything on this level? If so, then we should probably move to a different one..."
- Goombella: "We need an access code. Maybe someone wrote it down somewhere? Let's explore beyond sublevel one..."
- Goombella: "Did you find the access code? Once we have it, let's use the terminal on sublevel one."
- Goombella: "Where the heck are we?"
- Goombella: "It's hard to know where to go when the ground doesn't light up. Maybe there's a hint in this room?"
- Goombella: "We can't use the elevator without a key... We're gonna have to challenge the angry-face guy on sublevel one."
- Goombella: "Let's get that Elevator Key. It should be inside the treasure chest from that angry-face guy on sublevel one."
- Goombella: "The key we got must operate the elevator! I think the one with a red panel was on sublevel two..."
- Goombella: "That enemy from sublevel four dropped something. Let's make sure we pick it up!"
- Goombella: "Take any Security Keys we find to the far-right room on sublevel three! Looks like we'll need four of them..."
- Goombella: "Have we checked all the rooms on sublevel three? Did we miss something?"
- Goombella: "We've got all the Security Keys! Now let's use them on the terminals in the far-right room on sublevel three."
- Goombella: "There's only one glowing floor panel. Let's go stand on it!"
- Goombella: "Let's step carefully. We don't want to step outside of the glowing panels."
- Goombella: "We must be getting close to Princess Peach and the Crystal Star. Hurry, Mario, hurry!"
- Bobbery: "With judicious use of blasting, I think we could activate the switch behind that fence."
- Goombella: "That conveyor floor is odd. Can we reach it somehow? Maybe we could just slip through a gap..."
- Vivian: "Could we get through if we used the moving floor to our advantage? I think I can help with that!"
- Goombella: "See that thing in the middle of the room? It must have been left behind. I wish we could just fly over there..."
- Goombella: "There should be a terminal where we can use the Security Key we got. Let's start looking for it."
- Goombella: "Let's put the Security Key we got into the terminal."
- Goombella: "Let's head back to Rogueport so we can tell Professor Frankly about the Crystal Stars and Princess Peach."
- Goombella: "Why are the doors locked? Weird... I guess we'll have to poke around elsewhere for now."
- Goombella: "Let's use the teleporter on sublevel two to head back to Rogueport."
- Goombella: "Let's go tell Professor Frankly about the Crystal Stars and Princess Peach."
Chapter 8[edit]
- Goombella: "Let's get to the Thousand-Year Door so we can open it and save Princess Peach! It's on sublevel three!"
- Goombella: "Let's enter the Palace of Shadow. We have to save Princess Peach!"
- Goombella: "Where could Princess Peach be? I'm worried... Let's hurry and find her!"
- Goombella: "What are you doing, Mario? Let's get back to the Palace of Shadow and save Princess Peach!"
- Goombella: "Spike traps, huh? They could pop up anywhere... We'll just have to be slow and careful, one step at a time."
- Vivian: "Those flames just keep on coming... Maybe we can avoid them by using my ability!"
- Goombella: "Those flames just keep coming, huh? Maybe we can roll under them... or get over 'em some other way."
- Goombella: "We just need to catch that one dark enemy. Try scattering the others with your hammer!"
- Goombella: "That one dark enemy dropped a key!"
- Goombella: "We're back in the same place as before. Did we go the wrong way somehow?"
- Goombella: "There must be a way for us to get through here. Let's check the walls and doors for anything unusual..."
- Bobbery: "There's a suspicious tower across the water... but I want to study those open-mouthed statues first!"
- Goombella: "Where do you think the pipe that appeared under the statue leads?"
- Goombella: "Strange place for a switch, huh? Guess we should press it..."
- Goombella: "I think something happened! Let's check around for any other tricks."
- Goombella: "Sounds like something happened again. Do you think we can reach the tower now?"
- Goombella: "I want to study that tower across the moat... Think we can reach it with one of your abilities, Mario?"
- Goombella: "Let's check out the tower!"
- Goombella: "This place is so quiet! For now, let's use the stairs and see what's up there."
- Goombella: "I wonder what that pedestal in front of the orrery is used for..."
- Goombella: "The pedestal in the tower has an indent to insert something... If we can't find anything in this tower, it must be hidden elsewhere... Is there some area we haven't explored yet?"
- Goombella: "Remember that Star Stone we got? Don't you think it'd fit in the indent in this pedestal nicely?"
- Goombella: "Where do you think this leads? Guess we'll just have to keep going and find out."
- Goombella: "Let's keep looking for something that fits in the tower's pedestal. Did we check the chest Gloomtail dropped?"
- Goombella: "Gloomtail dropped a treasure chest! Wonder what's inside... Let's check!"
- Goombella: "I wonder where we're supposed to use this Star Stone we found. Did we totally miss something earlier?"
- Goombella: "You know that Star Stone we got? I saw something with that same shape in the tower... Think they're related?"
- Goombella: "Let's try putting the Star Stone in the pedestal."
- Goombella: "We haven't fully explored the tower. Let's go back!"
- Goombella: "The eight pillars on the third floor have keyholes in them... Guess we should be on the hunt for eight keys!"
- Goombella: "Look, Mario! There's a plaque on the wall. Don't you want to know what's written on it?"
- Goombella: "Doesn't seem like there's anything left to do in this room. Let's leave."
- Goombella: "It's unlike you to leave a mysterious chest sitting unopened, Mario."
- Goombella: "Twin rooms? Think that means two rooms that look the same? The blocks in here are kind of suspicious too..."
- Goombella: "The rooms on the first and second floors seem identical, so... Hey, wait! Aren't there fewer blocks in here?!"
- Goombella: "Let's press that blue switch!"
- Goombella: "Retreat" must describe walking back toward the door. The repetition of the word must be some kind of clue too..."
- Goombella: "Nothing's happening... Maybe we should leave this room for a minute to clear our heads."
- Goombella: "So we need to defeat all these jerks in order, weak to strong. Dull Bones with green shoes are super weak, right? This might be tricky. If we battle the wrong enemy, let's just exit, reenter, and try again!"
- Goombella: "So we need to defeat them in order, starting with the weakest... If we mess up, let's exit and reenter to try again."
- Flurrie: "If we can't SEE something, but we can FEEL it, then there must be something there! This is quite unusual..."
- Vivian: "Does that hint mean that as long as we're visible in here, the important thing in this room will... disappear?"
- Vivian: "Oooh, that blue switch appears when we hide... Neat trick! Let's remember where it is so we can press it."
- Goombella: "If we try touching it, we'll pass right through... so the only things we can touch are the walls!"
- Goombella: "Let's try pressing that blue switch. I never imagined we'd be able to walk right through a wall!"
- Bobbery: "Sounds like we need to walk straight from the entrance, but when we do, we hit a wall! Can we bust it down?"
- Goombella: "The wall broke apart. Let's look around."
- Goombella: "Now we have all eight keys! Time to finally solve the mystery of the third- floor pillars..."
- Goombella: "What was that huge sound?! Let's go check things out!"
- Goombella: "We've got to save Princess Peach! Let's press on and see what's waiting for us beyond the courtyard."
- Goombella: "We've got to save Princess Peach! I know you'll help her, Mario... and we'll all help you help her!"
- Flurrie: "A dead end. Looks like it is time for me to take the stage once more!"
- Yoshi: "There's a platform in front of that hole in the wall. I can probably get us over there, y'know!"
- Koops: "If you need to hit a switch from a distance, let me! I want to help."
- Bobbery: "If we work together, old boy, then we can make quick work of switches that are just out of reach!"
- Goombella: "That big block is living up to its name. Let's try the nearby hallway instead."
- Goombella: "Don't you think the switches in this hallway and the blocks in the next one look similar? Or is it just me?"
- Bobbery: "You may rely on me, old boy, when you need to press a switch while you're on top of a block."
- Yoshi: "Any time you need to cross a gap, you can count on me, Gonzales!"
- Goombella: "I bet we'd be able to make headway if we got on the red block, then used your or a partner's abilities, Mario."
- Goombella: "This is a really narrow space, but I'm sure you can shrink down and find a way across with one of your abilities."
- Yoshi: "This space is pretty narrow, but we can get through here with my help, Gonzales! I've got this!"
- Goombella: "I'll bet we can find a way forward hidden here somewhere. Y'know, like a tiny gap or something..."
- Goombella: "If you ever feel stuck... try looking up! You might discover a way forward."
- Bobbery: "If we work together, old boy, then we can make quick work of switches that are just out of reach!"
- Koops: "There's something sitting just out of reach... I think I can get it for you..."
- Yoshi: "See that thing sitting out of reach? I could get us over there to grab it!"
- Goombella: "That Palace Key we got must open a door around here somewhere... Let's look around."
- Goombella: "It's a tight squeeze to get through here... Mario, can you make yourself smaller and continue on?"
- Goombella: "There's a lot of ☆ marks. Wasn't there another place nearby with a bunch of ☆ marks too?"
- Flurrie: "It's a dead end, dear, but I'm certain something is hidden here."
- Goombella: "Keep a close eye on where you're stepping. Take it one step at a time, no need to rush. We'll get there."
- Goombella: "Let's use the plane to get farther down the hall. You can press to abruptly return to normal while flying."
- Yoshi: "I'm speedy, so if you need to get somewhere in a flash, leave it to me!"
- Goombella: "There's this...dark, oppressive feeling coming from deep in the palace... Princess Peach might be up ahead!"
- Goombella: "Princess Peach is probably just a little bit farther. Let's go, Mario!"
- Goombella: "Trouble! Princess Peach was taken into the depths of the palace! Let's go after them!"
Pit of 100 Trials[edit]
- Goombella: "Let's fight our way to the lowest level! Make sure I Tattle on any enemies we haven't seen before, OK?"
- Goombella: "Mario... I think we've done it! We've reached the lowest level of the Pit of 100 Trials! This is so awesome!"
- Goombella: "Didn't expect such a rare critter to pop up way down here... Whatever you do, Mario, DON'T hit it! I mean it!"
Post-game hints[edit]
- Vivian: "Items like to hide sometimes, so check behind objects while you explore. You might find goodies... even Star Pieces!"
- Bobbery: "Allow yourself quiet moments to study your surroundings. You might discover things... like thin gaps to slip through. On that note, if you spot any cracks in walls or surfaces, leave them to me!"
- Goombella: "We've gathered a lot of info... If you ever need a refresher, you can study our Journal by pressing !"
- Flurrie: "Rogueport is a delightful town, Mario! There's much more to it than simple shops and a game-filled parlor. There are vendors who can make us more powerful and brokers who may share valuable information... And there's the Happy Lucky Lottery as well! It might be fun to test our luck sometime, don't you agree?"
- Koops: "Hey, Mario... can we take on the Pit of 100 Trials beneath Rogueport? I'd like to try, if it's OK. Adventuring through the lower levels might help me become even tougher, y'know?"
- Ms. Mowz: "You do know I love to sniff out hidden goodies, right? A tap of from you is my cue to search the immediate area!"
- Koops: "I've heard of a place below Rogueport that's, like, a pit... and the deeper you go, the stronger the enemies are... That might be a good place to put our skills to the test. I might become a bit stronger too, I guess..."
- Ms. Mowz: "Say, my sweet hunk of party cheese... have you discovered any badges that change the color of your clothes? I've heard one such badge is inside a fancy sanctum, pretty as a picture... Another is with a certain merchant..."
- Vivian: "If someone has a problem they can't solve, they'll post a request inside the Trouble Center in east Rogueport. Makes you think, right? Everyone has to deal with some kind of hardship... I'd like to help them all, if we can."
- Goombella: "Hey, Mario... have you ever heard of the Pit of 100 Trials? Rumors say there's a pipe near the Thousand-Year Door that can take us there. Maybe this is the spot..."
- Koops: "Can we enter the Pit of 100 Trials, Mario? I promise to try my hardest... I want us to reach the lowest level!"
- Yoshi: "Can you FEEL the passion coming from the Glitz Pit? Maybe they'll let us hop back in the ring to fight a few rounds!"
- Yoshi: "Let's get in that ring! We'll become legendary champions in no time!"
- Yoshi: "Bring it on, Glitz Pit! Ranked Matches? HA! Exhibition Matches? Double HA! These goons don't stand a chance!"
- Flurrie: "That Boo we met in Creepy Steeple said, "See you, sucker"... yet I do not see him! Doubly rude! Where is he?!"
- Flurrie: "That little ghosty on the first floor of Creepy Steeple just loved to quiz us... Let's humor him again, shall we?"
- Bobbery: "Nature is truly flourishing on this isle. Stay alert! We might spot some rare species that's found refuge here..."
- Bobbery: "I'd like to learn more about that blue beast that keeps popping up by the port..."
- Bobbery: "What business is this burrowing blue beast all about?"
- Bobbery: "That little blue fellow isn't popping up to say hello... Perhaps he's found refuge elsewhere?"
- Goombella: "Everything is back to how it was! Let's look around. Was there some gizmo we didn't turn on before?"
- Goombella: "Mario... you might be the first person to play a crane game on the moon. Thanks for making this possible, TEC!"
