In Paper Mario: The Origami King, Olivia serves as a supportive companion, providing hints to players as they journey through the world. Her guidance aligns with the player's story progression, and is similar to Huey's advice in Paper Mario: Color Splash.

Overlook Mountain

• "Head for the red streamer! Oh, and enjoy all that intense mountain climbing."

Battle hints

Olivia also offers hints during battles, guiding players on ring arrangements, attack choices, and enemy weaknesses. Her advice varies based on the situation, and is similar to the hints given by Kersti in Paper Mario: Sticker Star.

• "What do you think would happen if you hopped on that shell? Maybe it'll hit all the enemies behind it?"
• "Better keep an eye on that timer. If the clock runs out, the board will lock in place!"
• "Looks like you can only move the rings around a set number of times per turn. Think carefully!"
• "Move the rings around to arrange the enemies. That's one of the basics of battling!"
• "Don't leave those angry enemies alone for too long. They might hit you with super-strong attacks!"
• "Careful, Mario! Your HP is low! This would be a great time to use a Mushroom, don't you think?"
• "Look who's here, Mario! Your friends will join you in battles too. They've got your back! Go, team!"
• "Those flying enemies might be too high to reach with your hammer..."
• "Surprise! If you need a hint during battles, just press to call me. I promise to do my best!"
• "You can press to have Toads join in and cheer you on!"
• "If running away seems like your best option, it looks like you just need to hold down !"
• "Don't forget to use items! Some of them can be surprisingly powerful!"
• "If you aren't able to line the enemies up just right, try using an item. Some of them might help out a lot!"
