Smorg is the sixth major boss of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Its name may come from the word smog, based on its dark, cloudy appearance. Their vocabulary consists of one word, "Smorg".
Description
Smorg is made up of massive hordes of smaller, individual Smorgs, and the base is made up of a cluster of Magenta Smorg. The appearance of the smaller Smorgs somewhat resemble that of Fuzzies.
History
Individual Smorgs are first seen at Riverside Station, where they lift the drawbridge to stop the train from progressing. Mario discovers a large group of them hidden within the station, who were trying to conceal the switch controlling the bridge. Mario chases them away and presses the switch, lowering the bridge and allowing the train to pass. The next day, it is shown that the Smorgs stowed away on the train and kidnapped the passengers. Mario and his teammates corner the Smorgs onto the top of the train, though the Smorgs combine into one, forming a large cluster of them. Mario then fights the large Smorg on the rooftop to rescue the passengers. Once it is defeated, the individual Smorgs blow away in the wind and release the passengers.
At the beginning of the battle, three tentacles will surround the main body. After taking a significant amount of damage, the tentacles will change shape into a pincer claw, which deals a large amount of damage to Mario and his partner.
