Tattle Log #: 63 |
Arantulas are black spider-like creatures in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They only appear deep within the Pit of 100 Trials. Arantulas are much stronger relatives of Piders, and are even named similarly: the Pider's name is "spider" without the "S", and Arantula comes from "tarantula", without the "T". They attack in much the same way that Piders do, however their spit hits harder, and the way they perform the three-spit attack is different: they fire one ball of normal speed, one slower ball in a high arc, and a much faster ball at a low angle, making it trickier to guard against all three.
In Super Paper Mario there is a Sammer Guy called "Hairy Arantula in the Grass". His name is a reference to the Arantula.

Trivia
- If there's an even amount of Arantulas in the battle, they will alternate between half being high up and half being down low. However, if there's an odd amount of Arantulas in the battle, they will all be at the same height.
- If any Arantula in battle is unable to move, all the other Arantulas won't move up or down.
