Ice Puff | |
---|---|
Sprite from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door | |
First appearance | Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (2004) |
Latest appearance | Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch) (2024) |
Variant of | Ruff Puff |
The Ice Puff is an icy variant of the Ruff Puff that are encountered on the Path to Fahr Outpost during Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and its Nintendo Switch remake. It can be a great hindrance to Mario, as he is rendered vulnerable to many attacks if frozen by the creature. It appears in battles along with Frost Piranhas. These blue clouds of the Ruff Puff family are immune to ice attacks, which heal them instead, and if Mario jumps on an Ice Puff when it is using its freezing charge, it will damage Mario in the same manner as if a Dark Puff was charging. This also takes up its turn and sometimes Ice Puffs can have Ice Storms to instantly freeze Mario if an Ice Puff uses it. Fire attacks are best used against Ice Puffs as they take one more damage per hit. They and the Frost Piranhas are the only ice-themed enemies in the game.

Tattle | That's an Ice Puff. It's a mean snow cloud that appears in cold areas. Max HP is 9, Attack is 4, and Defense is 0. It swoops down and uses cold breath to attack. Trust me, it's NOT refreshing. That cold breath can freeze us, so try to avoid it. Also, if we touch it when it's storing cold energy, we'll get hurt. Isn't that super-weak? They're vulnerable to fire, so let's try that, maybe. |
