- “Yeah, last version was buggy, so we made improvements... One...two...a DOZEN!!! Get ready for a whole new way to experience pain, you junior-varsity losers!”
- —Lord Crump while in Magnus von Grapple 2.0, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Magnus von Grapple 2.0 (or Magnus 2.0) is the improved version of Magnus von Grapple controlled by Lord Crump and built by X-Naut Scientists in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It is the seventh Chapter Boss in the game, and the last boss to hold a Crystal Star. In the original game, Magnus 2.0 shares its battle music with the original Magnus, but in the remake, it has a new arrangement of the theme.
Lord Crump was assigned to guard the Crystal Star in the X-Naut Fortress located on the moon. He controlled an upgraded version of the Magnus von Grapple, with new attacks (a flying drill attack instead of the stomp, an ability to inhale audience members and open its front to fire many audience members at the person in front, and a higher HP, attack and defense). After defeat, the robot explodes, sending Lord Crump into deep space.
Magnus von Grapple 2.0 still retains its rocket punch and just like its weaker counterpart, it has the ability to summon an X-Punch, a stronger version of the original version's X-Fists. Magnus von Grapple 2.0's main attack is flying off-screen and then diving down at Mario and his partner, which does six damage. Another one of its attacks is flying to the audience arena, revealing the vacuum from its bottom, sucking up the audience, and then opening its front to fire audience members at whomever is in front, which deals 10 hits of three damage each.

Tattle | Ah! Magnus Von Grapple 2.0. The upgraded version of Magnus Von Grapple. Max HP is 70, Attack is 6, and Defense is 2. Its basic attack is a drill move that drops from above. It also sometimes releases its fists for flying X-Punches. Each X-Punch has a Max HP of 5, and Attack of 9, and a Defense of 0. When those fists are flying, you may get attacked by the fists and body in one turn... Take care of those low-HP fists early on, trust me. When the body's HP gets low, it'll also fire machine guns and who knows what else. It may not look too different from the last version, but it's much stronger, so be careful! I still think the whole design is a little ridiculous, though... |

Trivia
- Magnus von Grapple 2.0 is the third boss in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door to directly use the audience in one of its attacks. The first was Hooktail, the second was Cortez, and the fourth is the Shadow Queen. It is the only one of the four to use them offensively.
