Eve: Difference between revisions
Technetium (talk | contribs) (Changed quote - I wanted to use this one earlier, but was hesitant due to thinking she only said it if Mario lies to her in her trouble. However, she apparently says it either way if you talk to her right after completing the trouble. The Shooting Star thing may be too speculative, but it seems likely to be intentional considering she uses the word "star" when talking about her past dreams.) |

- “Thank you so much, Mario. You've breathed new life into this old girl's heart...”
- —Eve, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Eve is a kind lady who lives in Twilight Town with her three children in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door.
History
When Mario visits her house, Eve and her children are starving because Eve's husband, currently a pig, is unable to make money for the family. If Mario gives her some food for her children, she will be happy, but immediately after, she will be turned into a pig by Doopliss. This also happens if Mario declines her request. She is later turned back to normal.
Eve also appears to have some method of obtaining Shooting Stars as when the player gives her food upon their first encounter, she will give Mario and co. a Shooting Star. Later, if the player decides to take on Eve's trouble, she will give them a Meteor Meal, which requires a Shooting Star to make, though she does mention buying it from Zess T.'s shop. It is possible that her having Shooting Stars is a reference to how she almost became a star on Broadshroom.
In a trouble posted up by Eve in the Trouble Center, it is revealed that many years ago, she was in love with Podley, but issues caused them to separate. By completing the trouble, Eve realizes she is content with the life she has now with her children.
- Thank You
How are you, Mario? This is Eve from Twilight Town. Remember me?
After a lot of soul-searching, I've found that I'm truly happy.
I may not be able to forget the hard times, or even completely remember them, but I've been thinking things over and I believe that my sad past paved the way to my current happiness. Is that deep?
Anyway, I can't think about that stuff all the time. The kids play all day... then they get hungry and cry and scream, so I'm pretty busy all day, every day.
The kids would love to see you again, so please drop by next time you're in the area!
Fondly yours, Eve
Tattle
- "That's Eve. It must be hard work raising all these kids, so I totally respect her. My mom always said that only hard work brings happiness...You think that's true?"
- As a pig
- "I KNOW she didn't turn into a pig to feed her hungry children... That would be TOO gnarly! But that is some spooky timing, I swear..."
