The Swampire is a green version of the Swooper in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Its name is a portmanteau of the words "Swooper" and "vampire". Swampires hide in the darkness, and can suck Mario's health and add it to their own. Swampires resemble the Swoopers from Super Mario World, as they, too, were green. Swampires have extremely high HP, as well as high attack power. Equipping the Zap Tap badge or using a Volt Shroom prevent Swampires from doing any harm to Mario and/or his active partner.
