- “Hiya. I'm Ian Foomus, the infamous info mouse. I know things. Things worth knowing.”
- —Ian Foomus, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (Nintendo Switch)
Ian Foomus is a Little Mouser who appears in the Nintendo Switch remake of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. He appears in the Trouble Center, offering advice to help with different troubles. He wears a gray cap, holds a book, and has a pencil tucked behind his ear. As Goombella's Tattle indicates, his name is a portmanteau of "infamous" and "info mouse."
Each of Ian Foomus's hints cost 5 coins. After buying one, it is summarized in the Notes section of the Journal next to the associated trouble request. Some trouble requests lack hints, as according to Ian Foomus, Mario has "all the info" he needs from the request itself or the requester to solve it. Other troubles, such as Elusive badge!, have multiple hints that must be bought separately as Mario progresses through the trouble. If the player cancels a trouble request after receiving a hint from Ian Foomus and later restarts it, the hint will not show up in the Journal and must be rebought.
Tattle
- "That's Ian Foomus, the infamous info mouse. He gathers intel about folks in trouble...instead of helping them. If you're stuck on a request from the Trouble Center, this smug li'l sleuth probably has the info you need. Buuut that info comes at a price, so only ask him if you're really stuck. Know-it-alls... Such a pain, am I right?"
