Or you could just set it off early with fire or explosions. Your call.

Bob-ulks are purple Bob-ombs that are the strongest and most armored variant of Bob-ombs. Their name is word play on "bulk", meaning very large. Bob-ulks are solely found in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door's Pit of 100 Trials. Goombella says that they are the biggest Bob-ombs she has ever seen, despite their slightly weaker variant, Bulky Bob-omb, being slightly larger in the Tattle Log.

Just like their relatives, Bob-ulks always go through the following pattern of moves:

  1. Lights its fuse
  2. Increases defense by 3
  3. Increases attack by 3
  4. Charges attack by 9
  5. Explodes

Also like their relatives, Bob-ulks can be instantly detonated with any fire or explosive attack, dealing 4 damage plus any accumulated boosts to Mario, his partner, and all other enemies. The explosion will chain-react with other Bob-ulks.
