Big Bob (originally known as the big bomb cannon) is a cannon that appears in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. It is located in Fahr Outpost under a huge underground chamber. The name "Big Bob" is a wordplay on "Bob-omb," as the cannon is loaded with a large number of Bob-ombs and fired with a powerful explosion, as well as "Big Bertha," a famous large artillery model. When Mario goes to Fahr Outpost in hopes of finding a way to the moon, he is informed that he must seek out Goldbob to gain permission to use the cannon and General White to have him operate it if he wishes to use the cannon. After he locates them, Mario speaks to the Fahr Outpost mayor once more, and Big Bob is activated. A hatch underneath Mario and his partner opens to load them into the barrel, and then numerous Bob-ombs are loaded into a chamber. After Mario is shot towards the moon, all of the Bob-ombs parachute back down.
The cannon additionally appears in volume 34 of Super Mario-kun, but it is destroyed by Bowser before it can be used to launch Mario, Goombella, and Koops to the moon; Bowser has to throw them instead.
