Allergic[1] is a rare status change that has only appeared in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The affected character will be immune to further status changes, whether positive or negative. However, Allergic will not remove status changes that have already been applied. For the duration of Allergic, the affected character will not benefit from items or abilities that grant positive status changes (e.g., Power Punch's Huge status, Dodgy Fog's Dodgy status, and Power Lift's Attack and Defense Power boosts), nor be affected by any harmful status (e.g., poison, confusion, dizziness, sleepiness). As such, it is the only neutral status change in the Paper Mario series. It is indicated by a small universal "No" symbol above the affected. In the Nintendo Switch remake, it is indicated by a humanoid figure inside a green-tinted bubble or shield.

Mario and his partners can only attain this status by being hit with the Shadow Queen's Dangerous Breath attack, Beldam's No Status attack, or by eating Space Food, thus making it one of the rarest status changes in the game.

In the original Enlish script, the description for the effect incorrectly states "Status hasn't changed!" likely due to a mistranslation. This is fixed in the remake to say "Can't be affected by status changes!"
