The Garnet Star is the sixth of the Crystal Stars Mario collects in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. The Garnet Star is kept in a secret area of the Poshley Sanctum in Poshley Heights, which the Sanctum's owner, Pennington, didn't even know about. A fake Garnet Star is on display in the main hall of the Sanctum, which is meant to attract tourists and trick thieves, which works on the Shadow Sirens and Doopliss as they confuse it with the real thing. Upon finding the real Garnet Star, it teaches Mario the move Showstopper.
