Plane panels, also known as airplane panels and paper airplane panels,[1] are objects in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. They are rectangular gray slabs with an outline of a paper airplane printed on them, usually placed hanging over large gaps. Initially, they cannot be interacted with, but once Mario is "cursed" by the black chest entity in Rogueport Underground, plane panels glow yellow when Mario walks on them, signaling that the player can press Y Button to have Mario transform into Plane Mode. They are first seen in Rogueport Underground, and reappear in many later areas, including Hooktail Castle, Boggly Woods, Glitzville, and the Palace of Shadow.

Plane panels have a close counterpart in boat panels, which allow Mario to transform into Boat Mode and similarly glow yellow if Mario stands on them after receiving their associated transformation.
