History
This section is a stub. Please consider expanding it to include any missing information. Specifics: Info on big Shy Guys in more games, including the Mario Party series and Mario Kart Tour
Yoshi's Island series
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island/Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3
In Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3, big Shy Guys[5] appear only in Prince Froggy's Fort, during the boss fight with Froggy. They are likely actually regular Shy-Guys, having no behavioral differences from them other than size, but only appear large because Yoshi and Baby Mario were shrunk by Kamek for the boss fight.
Big Shy Guys can be converted into Giant Eggs when eaten by Yoshi, who is required to use the resulting Giant Eggs to damage Froggy.
Yoshi's New Island
Mega Guys are more common in Yoshi's New Island, appearing in four levels: Chomp Rock 'n' Roll, Hidey-Hole Hooligans, Fort Key Calamity, and Make Way for King Bowser!. They are almost entirely different because many of them emerge from large pipes, are unaffected by stomps, and can be swallowed to become Mega Eggdozers. The player has to repeatedly press to swallow a Mega Guy.
Yoshi's New Island is the first game with Metal Guys, which are just as large, except they become Metal Eggdozers if eaten.
Super Mario Advance
Big Shy Guys are somewhat common enemies in Super Mario Advance. They appear in red-robed and blue-robed variants, like regular Shyguys. The only difference between the red and blue Big Shy Guys is that the red type walks off of ledges, whilst the blue type turns upon reaching them.
Big Shy Guys have similar qualities to Big Ninjis. They release Hearts when thrown to the ground or defeated and take longer than most enemies and items to pick up, because of their size.
Super Mario-kun
In the small short that concludes the chapter in volume 26 of Super Mario-kun, a Big Shy Guy attacks Mario, Goombario, and Kooper. It then pits Mario against Robirdo. Mario, however, grabs the Big Shy Guy and throws it against Robirdo, defeating both.
WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase
A Big Shy Guy is one of four possible enemies to appear in the microgame Mario Adv. in WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase, besides Shy Guy, Ninji, or Tweeter.
Mario Tennis Aces
In Mario Tennis Aces, a black Mega Guy appears in Snowball Fight, acting as a regular Shy Guy. In addition to the aforementioned type appearing in blue, in Ver. 2.3.0 onwards, much bigger black Mega Guy bandits wearing yellow or red bandanas are encountered individually in the added Shy Guy Train Tussle Co-op Challenge. They have increased health and can be attacked by either hitting back the projectiles shot by the four cannons overhead or hitting back the Bob-ombs or Mega Bob-ombs tossed by it. When defeated, they drop a key to a golden treasure chest with coins.
Unused appearances
Yoshi's Story
Big Shy Guys appear in an early trailer of Yoshi's Story, though they are not present in the final game.[6] They also appear in the Yoshi Demo, where stomping one would turn it into a regular Shy Guy.
