The elder (or real elder) is the Mushroom elder of Seaside Town in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. He is the most respected person of said town. After Mario defeats Johnny at the Sunken Ship, he discovers that the elder and the other inhabitants of Seaside Town are imprisoned in a shed by Speardovich and his clones who have disguised themselves as inhabitants of the town. Speardovich demands that Mario hand over the Star Piece, and if Mario refuses, Speardovich will send his clones to torture the elder as many times as necessary until Mario gives in.
